Summary
- Persona 3 Reload offers a variety of weapons and armor for players to equip their party members with.
- The Rash Guard and Rubber Sole are affordable early-game armor options that provide defense and evasion bonuses.
- The Camo Shirt and Pixel Vest are powerful armor options that offer stat bonuses and are ideal for certain characters.
Persona 3 Reload has a great variety of weapons in the game. It’s good to go into a turn-based battle with the best weapons, but an offense is only as good as a solid defense. Most party members in the game can equip two pieces of armor, along with one accessory.
6 Beginner Tips For Persona 3 Reload
Looking to start Persona 3 Reloaded for the first time? Here are a few key things to keep in mind.
They can equip one thing to their chest along with a foot-based piece of gear. Armor will traditionally boost defense as a stat, but there are some pieces of gear with bonuses. For the four early party members in Persona 3 Reload, let’s equip them with the best armor money can buy.
8 Rash Guard
Defense 46
- Location: Tatsumi East Police Station
- For Everyone
- Cost: 4,500
The Rash Guard is the first piece of armor that players should pick up. It can be bought at the police station for fairly cheap too. It does not have any bonus effects to boost other stats besides having a solid 46 in the armor rating department.
It’s not fancy, but everyone in the party will benefit from the Rash Guard until something cooler pops up. Once players do upgrade their characters to new armor classes, they should be sure to sell old stuff to earn some extra Yen in Persona 3 Reload.
7 Rubber Sole
Evasion 19
- Bonus: Strength +1
- Location: Tatsumi East Police Station
- For Everyone
- Cost: 2,100
While the Rash Armor was for the body, the Rubber Sole is a type of shoe armor. Shoes in this game boost evasion as the default stat instead of defense. It makes sense since monsters in RPGs typically don’t attack a hero’s feet.
Besides the Evasion level of 19, these shoes will boost strength, which will transfer to physical attack power during battle. The Rubber Sole can be bought at the police station as well.
6 Chest Protector
Defense 31
- Bonus: Agility +1
- Location: Tatsumi East Police Station
- For Everyone
- Cost: 3,800
The Chest Protector is another piece of armor for the body that everyone can equip. It’s even cheaper than the Rash Guard at the police station. The reason why it ranks higher, even though its armor rating is lower, is because the bonus stat is a great one.
Persona 3 Reload: Best Early-Game Weapons For The First Four Party Members, Ranked
Persona 3 Reload's first four playable characters can pick from an assortment of early-game weapons, with these options being the best.
It will add plus 1 to a character’s Agility score. Agility affects turn order during battle as this is a turn-based RPG. The faster characters are, the faster they can attack enemies and get the battle over with thus negating the need for a higher defense rating.
5 Frost Heels
Evasion 31
- Bonus: Chance To Evade Ice Magic
- Location: Tartarus 18th Floor
- For Females
The Frost Heels cannot be obtained by ordinary means. They are also exclusive to women, which equates to Yukari for about the first ten hours of the game. They are a nice pair of heels for her too, as they not only increase Evasion, but they also add Ice Evasion.
If a monster casts a spell like Bufu, Yukari will then have an extra chance to dodge out of the way. They can be unlocked on the 18th floor of Tartarus as long as players have Twilight Fragments, which is a new item in Persona 3 Reload.
4 Inline Skates
Evasion 28
- Bonus: Agility +3
- Location: Tatsumi East Police Station
- For Everyone
- Cost: 4,800
The Inline Skates are not exclusive to female characters, and they can be bought on the cheap at the police station. They are not as evasive as the Frost Heels, but their bonus is slightly better than the ability to dodge ice magic. They will raise Agility by 3, and it makes a little more sense to give this bonus to shoe armor rather than a piece of body armor like the Chest Protector.
How could chest armor make anyone faster? It’s a mystery just like it’s a mystery as to how a police officer is selling magical items to kids in seemingly the real world of Japan.
3 Camo Shirt
Defense 52
- Bonus: Strength +1
- Location: Tatsumi East Police Station
- For Everyone
- Cost: 7,700
The Camo Shirt is the last piece of good body armor that players can buy toward the start of the game. It has a good Defense score of 53 strength, along with providing an increase to Strength of 1.
Persona 3 Reload: Best Early-Game Accessories For The First Four Party Members, Ranked
Persona 3 Reload is not an easy RPG, and these early-game accessories will help keep Makoto and the rest of the party alive.
Two characters benefit the most from this armor. Junpei uses a two-handed sword and typically has a large attack rating on his weapons. Akihiko is the other good candidate who hits almost as hard, and he has better accuracy normally than Junpei. Good Strength ratings in Persona 3 Reload are especially nice to have during boss fights.
2 Hothead Shirt
Defense 52
- Bonus: Resist Freeze
- Location: Tartarus 17th Floor
- For Everyone
The Hothead Shirt is kind of like the Frost Heels as the bonus revolves around ice magic. This chest armor will protect against Freeze, which is a status ailment in the game. Frozen characters will be unable to move during battle until someone cures them with an item like the Baisudi Gem which is a hard one to come by in Persona 3 Reload.
Frozen characters can also get unfrozen with time, but no one wants to have their party be inflicted by anything in an RPG. The Hothead Shirt can be obtained with Twilight Fragments on the 17th floor of Tartarus.
1 Pixel Vest
Defense 69
- Bonus: SP +10
- Location: Elizabeth Quest
- For Males
The Pixel Vest is for the boys of the group only, which boils down to Makoto, Junpei, and Akihiko for starters. It can be obtained through a quest of Elizabeth’s once her missions unlock. One of her quests asks the player to bring her a console and Junpei has an extra in the dorm which looks like a PSP.
It’s a pretty basic fetch quest for a gnarly piece of armor that players will not want to miss. This beauty will boost Defense up to 69 along with giving the equipped hero 10 more SP to their meter which will allow them to cast more spells.
