Lost Claim is the first level in Pepper Grinder, and it is home to five golden skull coins. While it is certainly not mandatory that players grab all those collectibles, there is an achievement to be earned by collecting every skull coin in the game. For those players who are interested in that achievement, this guide is here to help them start the journey that leads to it, and details on the location of every skull coin in Pepper Grinder's 1-1 can be found in what follows.
Pepper Grinder: 1-1 Lost Claim Skull Coin Locations
Skull Coin #1
The level's first skull coin is on a stone platform near the top of the screen, and it is very hard to miss. To reach the coin, fans of indie platformers should simply drill through the sand block that is beneath it, exiting through the top of the block in order to boost Pepper onto the stone platform.

In a recent interview, The Best War Games speaks with developer Ahr Ech about Pepper Grinder's Dig Dug, Donkey Kong Country 2, & Ecco the Dolphin inspirations.
Skull Coin #2
Not long after collecting the first coin, players will find themselves using their drills and a series of movable platforms to navigate a vertical corridor. After jumping off the first movable platform, fans of 2D platformers should pass through two sand blocks and use their drill to break the cracked wall on the right. This action will reveal the second skull coin, and fans will then be free to collect it.
Skull Coin #3
Players will send a large turnip flying as they emerge from the aforementioned vertical corridor, and they should go all the way to the left upon reaching this screen. Fans of indie video games who follow that instruction will find themselves in an area with a large gun, and they should use their drills on the machine's yellow ring to launch Pepper to an elevated platform. Here, players will see many cracks in the rock, and hitting those cracks with the drill will reveal the third skull coin.
Skull Coin #4
This skull coin is placed on a wooden platform near the top of the screen, and players must simply send Pepper toward it by boosting upward when exiting the nearby sand block.
Skull Coin #5
The final skull coin is accessed from the screen immediately to the left of the level's completion flag. More specifically, the collectible is beyond a cracked wall on the left side of that screen, and fans of video games with pixel art can reach it by boosting as they travel upward out of the sand.
Pepper Grinder is available for Nintendo Switch and PC.
