The Mesa update in PEAK has brought loads of new content for players to check out. There are new items to collect, new achievements, and even a new biome to explore. But that’s not all, because the update also brings back an old material from earlier versions of the game: the Strange Gem.

PEAK already had plenty of mysterious items, and now, with the Strange Gem making a return, there’s one more mystery for players. So, how do you find the Strange Gem in PEAK, and what can you do with it? Let’s take a look.

PEAK is full of weird and interesting items, and the Strange Gem is definitely one of them. It was first introduced in the MESA update. But at the time, it didn’t seem to do anything, which left players scratching their heads. Ever since then, players have been experimenting with it, trying to figure out if it had a secret use or hidden meaning. Now, after the ROOTS update, players have started seeing the 'Strange Gem Activated' message. And once again, everyone’s curious to know if the gem finally serves a purpose. How to Get the Strange Gem in PEAK

Players can get the Strange Gem by interacting with the statue found behind the back of the mountain at the very top of the PEAK biome, so it’s easy to miss if you don’t know its location. Once you find it, interact with it. You’ll see the gem in the statue's hands, and its bright pink color makes it easy to notice from a distance. Now, just interact with it to collect it like any other item.

How to Activate the Strange Gem in PEAK (& What it Does)

After the ROOTS update, reaching the PEAK biome will allow players to activate the Strange Gem. All you have to do is left-click while holding the Strange Gem, and you’ll see the 'Gem Activated' message appear in the top-left corner of your screen. Click again, and it will say 'Gem Deactivated.'

At first, these messages make it seem like the gem finally does something. We thought so too, and tried all kinds of things while holding it. But it turns out the Strange Gem still doesn’t have any real use yet. Still, there’s a good chance it might get a purpose in a future update. It's good to know that there's additional progress made with the Strange Gem, but perhaps another update is required before the Strange Gem has a use.
