PEAK receives new content in the ROOTS update, and one such piece of new content is in the form of a delicious hot dog. Hot Dogs feature in PEAK as a new consumable item, but there's an associated badge for Hot Dogs that makes this achievement, and it's a cosmetic item, a tad harder to get for solo players. If you're on the hunt for Hot Dogs in PEAK, we'll show you exactly how to get them to ensure that you can crown yourself as the greatest competitive eater, thanks to the Competitive Eating Badge that will unlock upon eating 3 Hot Dogs in 5 seconds or less.

How to Get Hot Dogs & Claim the Beer Hat Cosmetic

The Competitive Eating badge requires players to eat 3 Hot Dogs in 5 seconds or less, and there are a few ways to make this simple. Firstly, this badge will be easily achieved if you're playing in a group of 3 or even 4, as H ot Dogs will spawn by the Campfire after reaching the top of each biome. This means that in a group, you can spawn 3+ Hot Dogs in the Shore by reaching the Campfire. Now, all you need to do is ensure you have a cleared inventory so that you can pick up all 3 and eat them one after another by holding left-click and hot-swapping to the next Hot Dog. It's worth noting that Hot Dogs only have a random chance to spawn, meaning that you may encounter a Marshmallow instead. In instances like this, keep the Hot Dogs stowed in your backpack and prepare to climb the Tropics/Roots biome to find another Hot Dog at the top.

For solo players, this badge might be a little more challenging. If you're playing PEAK solo and want to get the Competitive Eating Badge, you will want to play on the Tenderfoot difficulty to make things easier for yourself. Now, climb the Shore as normal and pick up the Hot Dog by the campfire, but do not eat it. If it's not a Hot Dog, restart the level. You're going to need to go from the Shore to Tropics/Roots, then to Alpine/Mesa, with a Hot Dog at each campfire. You might find a Marshmallow, but press on until the Kiln for the final campfire snack, in the hopes that you can collect a new Hot Dog at every campfire, instead of a Marshmallow.

Hot Dogs only spawn at campfires, meaning you can't get them from Luggage, and a Marshmallow may spawn at the campfire instead, so it's very RNG-heavy. From the Shore, pick up the Hot Dog and store it in your Backpack, and then climb the other biomes until you have 3 Hot Dogs in your Backpack. For food resources between campfires, make sure to take plenty of Trail Mix, Airline Food, and fruits/mushrooms to ensure you don't starve. Once you've acquired your third Hot Dog, equip them in your hotbar and eat all 3 to claim the Competitive Eating badge and get the Beer Hat.
