Stormcharged is a Notable in Path of Exile 2 that offers a huge power boost for builds focusing on Critical Hits and Elemental Damage. It works just like any other passive in the skill tree, but its description is somewhat confusing.
This guide covers everything there is to know about Stormcharged, as well as how to anoint it to an Amulet so that players don't have to invest skill points to path towards it in the passive tree.

Expedition Logbooks are a part of the Expedition endgame mechanic and are used to access the pinnacle boss, Olroth, Origin of the Fall.
How Does Stormcharged Work in PoE 2
Stormcharged is a Notable passive in Path of Exile 2 that can be obtained using a skill point in the passive skill tree or by anointing it on an Amulet. It has the following effects.
- 40% increased Elemental Damage if you've dealt a Critical Hit Recently
- 20% increased Critical Hit Chance
The way Stormcharged works is simple. If you land a Critical Hit to an enemy, your Elemental Damage will be increased by 40% for the next 4 seconds. The term 'Recently' refers to the last 4 seconds. This bonus is applied to all elemental damage, not just elemental damage that's part of Critical Hits. This way, if players have a consistent way to land a Critical Hit, but their main form of damage comes from elemental damage that cannot Critical Hit, they can still manage to benefit from Stormcharged.
The Stormweaver Spark build, for example, sometimes uses the Controlled Destruction Support, which makes it so that attacks cannot crit. Obviously, this means Spark cannot trigger Stormcharged. However, another skill, like Orb of Storms, can easily Critical Hit thanks to its multiple hits. When this is used to trigger Stormcharged, the 40% increased Elemental Damage bonus is applied to Spark as well, allowing the move to gain a massive boost in damage.
How to Anoint Stormcharged in PoE 2
Stormcharged can be anointed to an Amulet using Distilled Emotions in the following order:
- Distilled Fear
- Distilled Fear
- Distilled Envy
You can find Distilled Emotions as random drops from Delirium enemies in endgame Delirium maps. Alternatively, you can buy Distilled Emotions through the Currency Exchange by talking to Alva in the Hideout.
Monsters in maps accessed using instilled Waystones do not drop Distilled Emotions.
After you've gathered the necessary Distilled Emotions, place them in your inventory as well as the Amulet you want to anoint. Right-click any Distilled Emotion to open the Instilling window. Place the Amulet in the top slot and place the Distilled Emotions in the row below it (pay attention to the order). If done correctly, you will see the bottom text box indicate Stormcharged. Click on Instill to complete the process. Now, whenever you equip that Amulet, the effects of Stormcharged will be applied.
