Path of Exile 2 is the sequel to the popular dark fantasy Diablo-style title that originally launched in 2013, and while it was initially intended to be merely an expansion to the first game, the studio decided to change the game's course by turning it into its very own standalone title instead.
Path of Exile is an action RPG famed for its intricate combat mechanics and sweeping endgame systems. Players can create specialized builds using numerous skills, looted or crafted gear pieces, and Path of Exile's trademark passive tree to take on various challenges. Path of Exile 2 could well be the next big live-service smash and, going by what has been shown so far in its early access trailer, Grinding Gear Games is doing a stellar job at showcasing what the game has to offer.
Path of Exile 2 - Console Announcement Trailer
Coming late 2024, this action RPG will include a couch co-op mode as well as cross-play and cross progression.
Path of Exile 2's early access release will begin on November 15, 2024. The announcement about the Diablo 4 rival was disclosed in a thrilling new trailer during this year's Gamescom Opening Night Live. The early access preview clip showed off some of Path of Exile 2's incredible CGI and also displayed what players will come up against with the game's combat system in the form of massive monsters and a host of new bosses, as well as a hint of the new classes, including Ranger. The sequel looks like it will overhaul and improve almost every aspect of the original while also introducing fresh mechanics, such as a new Skill Gem system.
Path of Exile 2 Early Access Date Announcement
Path of Exile 2' s beta has been delayed a handful of times already, so it's little wonder why the sequel is now hotly anticipated by its established audience. Like many other games in development throughout one of the worst periods in recent history, the sequel had been slowed down by the pandemic, and fans of the franchise had hoped it would release in 2021. Thankfully, now, ARPG enthusiasts only have three months to go before they can finally tuck in.
Up until now, Path of Exile players needed multiple devices if they wanted to play with their friends, but now Path of Exile 2 brings the experience of playing together to local co-op, while also incorporating cross-play and cross-progression. Since the game supports these two important features, players can create new characters to start the adventure together or access their existing characters and team up to explore the endgame content.
