Path of Exile 2 is Hosting a Special Boss Rush Event Next Month at Gamescom

  • The Boss Rush event runs exclusively at Gamescom from August 20-24.
  • The event takes place at Hall 6.1 C071/A070.
  • There will be 15 bosses for players to defeat.

At Gamescom, Path of Exile 2 players will get to choose between seven pre-made characters to use during this exclusive Boss Rush. Each character has their own pre-set stats and skills, and players will only have 20 minutes to take out as many bosses as they possibly can. The most successful players will win yet-to-be-revealed rewards that are only available at Gamescom.

Even more exciting, developer Grinding Gear Games has confirmed in the official blog post announcing the event that many of the 15 bosses haven't even been featured in the game yet. As Path of Exile 2 continues to focus on new content, the promise of getting a preview at never-before-seen bosses is bound to be a fun glimpse into the game's future.

An official live leaderboard will be hung above Path of Exile 2's booth, so fans can keep track of where they stand against other players.

Path of Exile's Next League Will Arrive at the Perfect Time

With Gamescom taking place between August 20-24 and the new League kicking off on August 29, the end of next month is packed with events for players to look forward to. Ever since it opened in early access last year, Path of Exile 2 has stayed consistent with its content, but this double dose of a special Boss Rush event and new League will be a major moment for the action RPG.

Gamescom's Opening Night Live event goes live on August 19 to kick off the event. This broadcast is also where a lot of big announcements and projects are revealed, so curious gamers may want to tune in.

Gamescom's Boss Rush Hopefully Won't Be Exclusive for Long

So far, the news of the Gamescom Boss Rush has ignited a lot of hype and intrigue from players, especially on the game's Reddit page, as many fans have voiced their hopes that this will become a normal game mode. There are also further theories that Gamescom is simply the stage where Grinding Gear Games is teasing what content to expect in the next update. Gamescom is well-known for big announcements, and this Boss Rush competition would certainly be a brilliant way to reveal new content that is destined for Path of Exile 2 down the road.

Also, Gamescom would be the perfect place for Grinding Gear Games to test new modes and features before releasing them fully to all players. Of course, only time will tell if the upcoming Boss Rush is a teaser for something more or not, but as the wait continues, August may be one of the biggest months that Path of Exile 2 has had so far.
