You'll get plenty of Health and Flower Point-restoring items in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, but the ones that give you more HP/FP usually can't be bought. Aside from the Jammin' Jelly and Ultra Mushroom, you won't find too many items that restore more than 15 HP/FP. Cooking will give you items that are ideal for recovering your energy in battle. You can create stronger meals by cooking up easy-to-find and/or cheap ingredients, such as a Mushroom. One recipe to consider is Inky Sauce, a juice that doesn't look very appetizing, but it's simple to cook and recovers a fair amount of FP.

How to Cook Inky Sauce

There are several recipes that make Inky Sauce, but the main ingredient is Hot Sauce. You'll also need to have the Cookbook key item so that Zess T. Can cook with more than one ingredient. You can get the Cookbook by rolling under the north wall in the main hallway of Creepy Steeple. This will take you to a secret room with the Cookbook stashed away in one of the chests. Once you complete Chapter 4, speak to Zess T. To deliver the key item.

The following are all recipes that create Inky Sauce in TTYD:

How to Get Turtley Leaf and Koopa Tea

Turtley Leaf is the easiest ingredient you can get. All you have to do is hit the tea leaves in Mayor Kroop's garden (next to the pink house) in Petalburg. If you want to cook the Turtley Leaf to make Koopa Tea, you can combine this with Hot Sauce to get the Inky Sauce. However, you can leave the Turtley Leaf as is without having to go the extra step of cooking it.

How to Get Zess Tea

Zess Tea can be made by giving Zess T. A Golden Leaf. You can get one Golden Leaf per visit from the golden tree in the Creepy Steeple.

Enter the door on the north wall (main hallway) of Creepy Steeple.
From there, head right, and you'll see a gap in the fencing.
Use Mario's ability to turn sideways (ZR-button) to pass through, then keep heading right.
You'll eventually find a golden tree. Hit it with the hammer to drop a Golden Leaf.

How to Get Hot Sauce ("Security code..." Trouble)

After you've cleared Chapter 6, you'll want to visit the Trouble Center to pick up a new request: "Security code...". This is posted by the Ratooey businessman you met on the Excess Express. Once you've accepted the Trouble, go to Glitzville and you'll find the businessman standing between the hot dog stand and the Glitzpit Entrance. To get the passcode for the briefcase, you'll need to count the chairs in four different locations. You'll find them (in order) at the following:

Koops' house.
Flurrie's house.
Don Pianta's office.
Toodles' house including the chair in the garden.

The security code is 2625.

Return to the businessman, and he'll give you a bottle of Hot Sauce as a reward. If you need another one, you can speak to him any time. Now that you have Hot Sauce and one of the above-mentioned ingredients, take them to Zess T. So she can cook the Inky Sauce.

Inky Sauce is a Flower Point-restoring item that can be used in or out of battle. It will replenish 30FP, making it more useful than most Syrups, but less than the Jammin' Jelly or Jelly Ultra. If you're playing with low FP, then having a few Inky Sauces on hand will restore your Flower Power to the max when you're in a pinch.

You can also use Inky Sauce with Cake Mix, Slow Shroom, or Fresh Pasta to make three different meals. You'll want to do this if you plan on completing the recipe book. Here are the ingredients to combine with Inky Sauce:
