Paper Mario: The Origami King releases in less than two weeks and every glimpse of the RPG is charming in a new and charming way. But some Paper Mario fans may be missing out on everything Nintendo has shared, since a lot of fun gameplay's been spread online in small clips. Luckily, a friendly Nintendo fan has collected all of Nintendo's various Paper Mario: The Origami King clips into one long video.
Each gameplay clip on its own is no more than a second or so, but put together the video is more than two and a half minutes long. Through the two minutes, viewers will get a quick introduction to many of Paper Mario: The Origami King's companion characters. Professor Toad, Kamek, Bobby the forgetful Bob-omb, and what looks like a folded up Bowsers are just some of the familiar Mario franchise characters that will be making appearances.
The video also goes over Paper Mario: The Origami King's new combat system. It's built off of the same combat from previous Paper Mario games, but with a clever new 3D element where the player can spin their enemies into a position where they're easier to damage. Of course, there are only a limited amount of moves available each fight, so combat takes on somewhat of a puzzle format.
To close out the video, there's a clip of one of Paper Mario: The Origami King's boss fights. The boss fights on The Origami King are unique, much like in other Paper Mario games. The box of colored pencils boss forces the player to meticulously arrange the stage so that the player can even get to them. Other bosses will likely be even more mischievous.
There are plenty of other videos for Paper Mario: The Origami King out there, including an over 5-minute video with commentary from Nintendo, but for fans who want to see everything about the new game there aren't many better options.
Clearly, there's a lot let to show of Paper Mario: The Origami King, too. It's going to be a massive game, just like the previous Paper Mario titles.
