As a hybrid of the monster-collecting and survival genres, Palworld ensures that there are many things for players to do. Whether one decides to learn how to catch Pals or craft equipment that helps during exploration, players can sink so much time into different activities in the game that it will be long before they run out of things to do. However, Pocketpair's title doesn't necessarily hold players' hands, allowing them to do whatever they want right from the start. The amount of freedom, as amazing as it is, could lead to newcomers not realizing the best way to get the most out of their experience, which is why several unwritten rules are available to help.
Although Palworld provides basic information to help players get started, the game doesn't go out of its way to provide extra tips or tricks. The tutorial can help teach the basics, but it doesn't go much further from there, as players are incentivized to discover things on their own. While the process is exciting, some would prefer the help of a guide that can help optimize gameplay in a way that allows them to get the most out of their experience. Veterans who have spent tens of hundreds of hours in Palworld have a few unwritten rules that can help with that, meaning new players can learn them to help fully enjoy what the game offers.
7 Reasons To Pick Up Palworld Again
Although Palworld is still currently in Early Access, there are plenty of reasons to return to the game today.
Palworld Is a Survival Game as Much as It Is About Capturing Monsters
The beautiful locations of Palworld are also some of the deadliest, consisting of many Pals who could threaten players' lives. But it's not just the monsters that need to be worried about, but also the survival aspects, as it can dictate just how much one can live and explore all the areas of the game. While it can be somewhat challenging to constantly take note of things like temperature, hunger, and material shortages, a few things can be done to make them a non-issue:
- For beginners, the best base locations in Palworld are the ones that contain lots of resources, so be sure to choose one that has a lot of wood, stones, and ore nearby.
-
Create a
Berry Plantation
and get the right Pals that can work on them as soon as possible to ensure that there is always a constant source of food.
- Be sure to craft clothes that will prevent freezing during the night, and make others that allow survival in harsh conditions such as extreme heat or cold as soon as possible.
- Do not forget to create and upgrade weapons and armor, as the game makes it clear that the players themselves are also an important factor in the outcome of battles.
- Capture Pals with different work traits that help ensure the base becomes an autonomous resource-gathering and item-crafting machine.
Make the Most Out of the Pals Available in the Game
While Pals are capable party members and base laborers, they also provide other benefits, but those can only be utilized if players realize what they are. There is the choice of obtaining the monsters and not bothering to figure out what they're capable of, but players who do could miss out on opportunities to help make the game easier, such as:
-
Choosing a Pal that can take exploration to the next level, like
Direhowl
and
Suzaku, as they and others like them can be mounted to traverse terrain easier and faster
- Gaining huge experience boosts and unlocking new technology much quicker by capturing the same Pal 10 times and doing the same for every new encounter
- Having more combat-capable partners by learning which Pals can be equipped with and crafted weapons for, and then using those monsters with increased firepower to make battles less challenging
Pals are an essential part of the game, so take the time to learn about the things above and the other advantages that the monsters provide that can give the best playthrough experience.
While there is no ideal guide on how to play Palworld, there are at least some rules that, if followed, can help ensure players enjoy the different parts of the game. Although they don't necessarily have to be followed, they can have a noticeable effect on one's gameplay, making them worth at least trying.
