Palworld is home to over 100 species of monsters roaming the map, some located in multiple areas while others are rarer. To build up a team that can compete against some of the toughest Rayne Syndicate bosses, players are tasked with venturing out into the world and capturing as many strong pals to be able to compete. With a team of five strong pals and their active skills, players can also equip weapons and armor to aid in their push for victory.
With the Sakurajima region open to the world of Palworld, players can now discover 24 more pals to battle and add to their Paldeck. Some pals will require patience to take down, while others are more common and can be caught in bundles. This guide will cover all 24 pals of the Sakurajima update, where to find them in Palworld, what element they belong to, and their partner skills.
Sakurajima Region — Day
New Pals Available In Sakurajima During The Day
In the Sakurajima region, the days are usually quite active, with pals at every turn of the head. For a small region on the map, Sakurajima sure has a high density of pals walking around, so players should exercise caution when exploring the area, as pals aren't the only threat to the player's survival. When the sun is up, and the birds are chirping, these daytime pals will be easier to spot and catch and are more frequently found compared to the night:

All pals listed above can also be found at night, with most asleep once the sun sets. Only Prixter and Dogen remain active during nighttime, but only Prixter will attack players who draw too close to their pack. If players wish to have an easier time catching these pals to obtain the capture bonus, the nighttime may be the best bet for avoiding confrontation and taking damage.
Sakurajima Region — Night
New Pals Available In Sakurajima During The Night
There are pals who not only prefer the nighttime but come out exclusively during these hours. The Sakurajima may feel peaceful during the day with calmer pals that will either avoid battle or welcome the player, but the nighttime is the complete opposite of that situation. The moon brings out the scarier pals that will ward off any evil and confront players, and their power levels are superior to the pals during the day.

It's best to come packed with tons of ammo, the best weapons, armor, and shields that can absorb multiple blows. All pals that come out at night in the Sakurajima region will have the Dark element and another one to make for a powerful foe, and they all attack relentlessly and possess the speed to cut off players hoping to flee the scene. Once caught, these pals will make worthy allies for a team destined for greatness.
Palworld's Sakurajima Update Leaving One Type of Base Customization Out is a Huge Missed Opportunity
The recent Sakurajima update for Palworld missed a major opportunity to give players more customization options for their bases.
New Alpha & Special Pals
New Alpha And Special Pals Available In Palworld
Alpha and special pals are those that take alternative methods to catch. For Alpha Pals, these monstrous creatures can only be found in one specific location and come packed with a large amount of HP and tremendous stats. Players can either catch these beasts or take them down but must then wait one hour of gameplay before they respawn. Other special pals require a different way to discover them in Palworld.

Meteor events will draw out Xenovader, Xenogard, or Selyne but will always exclusively feature one of the three during one event. This means players will need some help with RNG to spawn the pals they're missing to catch and then hope not to see those pals get knocked out during battle. Blazamut Ryu joins Bellanoir as another raid pal to summon, while Mimog can be found all over the map as a replacement for typical treasure chests. As for Katress Ignis, they can only be found in dungeons in the Sakurajima region.
