Palworld is filled with an array of different creatures, each with their own unique purposes and abilities. While some Pals make for excellent combatants, equipped with devastating attacks and team-related skills, others are better suited to work at the player's base, whether it be in the form of farming, watering, mining or transporting an array of goods. Other Pals, however, are not particularly good at either line of work. While they may have their own uses, it is often better to sell them and make a quick buck rather than have them occupy valuable inventory space.
Players can sell their Pals to either a Pal Merchant or a Black Marketeer, both of which can be found in various locations throughout the map. Players are also able to purchase Pals from these traders, though they often come at a much higher buying cost.
Palworld: Best Areas To Explore In The First Few Hours
Palworld's map is gigantic, as the Palpagos Islands have a varied number of different biomes and areas. These are the best areas to explore first.
8 Lamball
Food-Producing Pal With Little Use Beyond Farming
Lamball is a sheep-like, Neutral element Pal found commonly throughout the game world. Aside from producing food when killed, Lamballs also have Handiwork, Transporting and Farming work suitability. However, players are sure to find better replacements as they progress through the game.
The best use for this Pal is the production of wool when assigned to a Ranch, but most of Lamball's passive and partner skills target combat shielding rather than work and production. Since there are many better options for combat companions, Lamball is best sold if not assigned to the ranch or used as a generic worker.

7 Cattiva
Useful Early-Game Pal, But Quickly Surpassed By Other Options
The Neutral element Pal
Cattiva is one of the most common Pals players are likely to encounter throughout the Palpagos Islands. While they can make great all-round, early-game workers, players are likely to find better options in specialty areas and will likely accumulate an excess of Cattiva Pals.
Palworld: Best Fire Pals
Fire Pals are crucial to making progress in Palworld, providing warmth in cold areas and fueling both furnaces and stoves.
As a result, it can be beneficial to consider selling these Pals whenever they are no longer needed, in order free up inventory space for more valuable and exotic Pals. Since they serve little purpose in combat, if they are kept around, they should be assigned to work duties around the player's base.

6 Jolthog
Electricity-Based Pal With Very Little Utility
Jolthog is an Electric type Pal with an explosion ability, but isn't especially effective or suited to many work types. Jolthog's Partner Skill allows players to throw it like an electrical grenade, and unsurprisingly, it is suited to generating electricity.
Given the limited use of Jolthog's Partner Skill, and the fact that electricity can be generated in a variety of ways, it does not make for a great combat team member or base worker. For these reasons, it's best to sell it.

5 Vixy
Valuable Pal With A Hit-Or-Miss Special Ability
While many players have warmed to the cute design of
Vixy, this Neutral element Pal possesses a very niche ability which not every player will find necessary. With poor combat stats and only a slim range of working suitabilities, it is often best to simply sell any excess Pals of this type.
Palworld: Best Handiwork Pals For Crafting
You're going to need a lot of Pals that excel in Handiwork in Palworld, or it's going to feel very tedious otherwise. Here are some great options.
Vixy's Partner Skill will allow them to dig up items from the ground when assigned to a Ranch, though this will happen quite rarely. While this can be useful for the odd surprise, it is not a great basis for building a functioning settlement and production chain.

4 Mau
Good To Look At But, Little Use In Combat Or Base
Much like Vixy,
Mau is a very specialized Pal with a rare unique ability, but it is not entirely useful or efficient when compared with other options. Mau's Partner Skill allows it to occasionally dig up gold coins when assigned to a ranch, so it is more of a visual pet than a genuine contributor.
Players can make a lot more money by selling this Dark element Pal to a trader, but it can be nice to have the Egyptian-themed Pal around, even if just to look at. Considering Mau is virtually useless in combat and cannot contribute much around the base, it seems like a no-brainer to simply cash-in and make a profit if need be.

3 Fuack
Common Pal Best Sold To Make Money
Fuack is a Water element type with decent combat attributes and work suitability, but can easily be replaced with superior Pals once they have been discovered. This duck-like Pal might be good for newer players, but they are quite limited when compared with other Water type Pals.
Palworld: All Mineshaft Locations
Learn where to find all the Mineshaft locations in Palworld so you can get legendary weapons, armor, and many useful resources.
Despite having working suitabilities such as Watering, Handiwork and Transporting by default, there are no skills or attributes that will help to enhance the efficiency of these activities in the same way that some other Pals have.

2 Hangyu
Less Common Pal With Little Utility In Base Or Combat
Hangyu is a noose-like Ground element Pal with very little use outside of being an optional glider. With mediocre combat stats, Hangyu's only real utility is in being a worker, and fortunately they are suited to a variety of different working roles.
Given that there are better glider and worker options available, it seems that the best course of action when obtaining or breeding a Hangyu is to sell it. Since these Pals are slightly less common, they fetch a marginally higher price than conventional Pals.

1 Woolipop
Candy-Producing Pal With Almost No Other Use
The Neutral type
Woolipop is generally considered one of the least useful Pals in the game, at least without some serious dedication to upgrading them. By default, Woolipop are very weak combatants, and are only suited to Farming work.
Palworld: Best Pals For Transporting Items
Pals can do a lot of various tasks in Palworld, and some are very good at transporting items around for players.
The Candy Pop Partner Skill enables Woolipop to occasionally dig up Cotton Candy when assigned to a ranch. Unfortunately, Cotton Candy holds very low nutritional value. As a result, it is probably best to sell Woolipop unless players want to keep them for aesthetic purposes.
