Palworld is a unique symbiosis of games in the style of Pokemon, ARK, and Satisfactory. Players explore a large open world populated by various Pals. To survive there, you will have to fight them, catch them, and use them for various purposes, including exploring the world.
Exploring the world on your own can seem like fun, but only during the first hours of the game. After this, you will want to significantly increase your mobility so as not to waste precious time traveling. And your Pals can help with that by allowing you to ride them.
6 Things To Do First In Palworld
As Palworld can feel massive and overwhelming, new players should prioritize a few things to get started on the right note.
How to Ride Pals in Palworld
To Ride Pals in Palworld, you need to fulfill two important conditions: find a rideable Pal, and craft the saddle. Among the creatures in Palworld, some can run across the plains, some can swim, and some can fly. When choosing a mount, you need to determine how exactly you want to explore the world. However, new players don't have such a wide variety of choices and are better off focusing on Pals that can be found on the ground.
Rushoar and
Melpaca are great choices to catch.
Finding and catching these Pals at low levels is quite easy. In addition, recipes for their Saddles are unlocked at levels 6 and 7 in the Technology Tab. In the meantime, other Saddles can be unlocked and crafted at higher levels. It is also important to note that blueprints for crafting Saddles will become available for unlocking only after you have caught the corresponding Pals. So don't worry if, at first, many recipes have a question mark.
Before you can craft Saddles, you need to create a suitable workbench, namely the Pal Gear Workbench. Its blueprint is also unlocked at level 6 in the Technology Tab:
- Wood x20
- Leather x10
- Paldium Fragment x10
- Fiber x15
Palworld: How To Place Stairs
Placing stairs in Palworld can be quite tricky if you don't know the right techniques. This guide explains the process to make it as easy as possible.
After that, all you have to do is craft Saddles for your Pals that you want to ride. Luckily, players do not need to equip these gears on mounts. Instead, summon your Pal and approach it. You will see a mount button on the screen. On the PC, it is the F button. Hold it so that your character will ride Pal, and you will be able to explore the world much faster. While riding, you can attack with ranged weapons and control your Pals. When you want to dismount, just hold down the same button.
That's all you need to know about how to ride Pals in Palworld. Getting a mount will allow you to progress much faster. Therefore, you should catch and mount Rushoar or Melpaca.
