A Palworld player lost hours of progress after accidentally destroying his base in tragic fashion. Palworld has earned praise for its base-building mechanics, but things can get a little finicky sometimes.

Similar to other survival games, Palworld bases give fans a satisfying way to showcase their progress in a game, while also giving them significant advantages over those with lesser bases. Some Palworld fans choose to go all-in on base building by spending many hours perfecting their designs, but others choose function over form so they can focus on catching Pals and exploring. Although it's not clear how much time this particular user spent building his base, his grave accident made him understandably frustrated.

Streamer ChrisCovent uploaded a clip to his Twitter account that showed his tragic Palworld mistake. He was in the midst of working on his base when he decided to remove a staircase near the base's foundation. Upon deleting the staircase, an instant chain reaction occurred that destroyed the entire structure he was working on. The streamer's hilarious and relatable reaction was put on display as his face became frozen in shock. ChrisCovent maintained this frustration until the clip cut out about 15 seconds later. In return for his disheartening mistake, the streamer's clip went viral and hopefully earned him some followers. His tweet currently sits at over 800,000 views.

The destroyed staircase caused the chain reaction because it was apparently the only supporting structure for the rest of the segment he was working on, which was elevated off of the ground. Other Palworld players have gone viral for their base-building work as well, although for slightly more wholesome reasons. Recently, one Palworld player showed off their incredibly detailed base that sports a big perimeter wall, numerous large structures, and plenty of Pals and resources.

Players will need to power up their Palworld bases in order to progress through the game's tech tree, which is an important aspect of Palword. Reaching sufficient power levels will allow Palworld players to craft advanced items like Production Assembly Lines, Electric Medicine Workbenches, and more, provided that they've also reached the proper character level.

Those who love the game's base-building mechanics can also create a second Palworld base. Having an additional base can double a player's productivity, but first, players will need to upgrade their Palbox to a high enough level. Players can teleport between their first and second bases, allowing for a pretty efficient workflow as they work to improve both fortresses.
