Palworld: Best Dark Active Skills (& The Pals That Have Them)
Palworld has a good selection of Dark Active Skills, and these are the type's best moves and the Pals that can use them.
Though there are only six total Dragon-type Active Skills, some of these are the most formidable in the game. These moves can reach a Power of up to 150, which is sure to make difficult battles a breeze. Of the available Active Skills, here are the best to give to your party members.
6 Dragon Cannon
A Draconic energy ball is hurled directly at the enemy
- Power: 30
- Cast Time: 2 Seconds
At the bottom of all the Active Skills, we have Dragon Cannon. This move is relatively weak, with only 30 Power and a Cast Time of 2 seconds. Though it won't do much damage, the fact that it has such a short Cast Time makes it perfect to use continuously to slowly whittle away at your enemy's health.
Dragon Cannon is a move that is available to almost every Dragon-type in Palworld, so it's a great starting point for your Pals. If you're still towards the beginning of the game and taking on lower-level bosses, Dragon Cannon is sure to allow you to hold your ground.

5 Dragon Burst
Damages surrounding enemies after discharging draconic energy
- Power: 55
- Cast Time: 10 Seconds
Just above Dragon Cannon we have Dragon Burst, with an increased power of 55 and a Cast Time of just 10 seconds. Though Dragon Burst has a much longer Cast Time, its increased damage will help lead your Pals to victory.
Palworld: Best Water Active Skills (& The Water Pals That Have Them)
With only a handful of water-based active skills in Palworld, their strength varies considerably, as does the Pals who can use them during battle.
Dragon Burst is a common Active Skill for Dragon-types, so if you've just caught yourself a low-level Chillet or even a hard-working Dinossom, they'll likely have this move already available. It's another solid beginner move that will tide you over before you are able to level up your Pals to get more powerful abilities.
Pals that can learn Dragon Burst:
4 Draconic Breath
Releases breath infused with draconic energy that deals continuous damage
- Power: 70
- Cast Time: 15 Seconds
Getting into the stronger Dragon-type moves, Draconic Breath comes with a sizable Power of 70 and a Cast Time of 15 seconds. Throughout the Cast Time, your Pal will be dealing continual damage that is sure to eliminate any Dark-types that might be in your way after a few hits.
Draconic Breath is available to a large majority of Dragon-types, as well as a few additional Pals such as Surfent and its counterpart, Surfent Terra. Pals like Dinossom will certainly want to keep this move available for use, as it is one of the best Active Skills they can learn naturally.

and
Jormuntide Ignis
-

3 Mystic Whirlwind
Two whirlwinds imbued with a mysterious energy pursue enemies
- Power: 70
- Cast Time: 10 Seconds
Just above its predecessor, we have Mystic Whirlwind with a Power of 70 and a Cast Time of just 10 seconds. The sheer speed of this Active Skill is what makes it so unique and useful, allowing you to repeatedly attack your enemy to prevent them from retaliating.
Palworld: Best Ice Active Skills (& The Pals That Have Them)
There are a select few Ice Active Skills available in Palworld, and these are some of the best to choose from.
Mystic Whirlwind is exclusive to Elphidran and Elphidran Aqua, which can only be found in the No. 1 Wildlife Sanctuary found in the southern part of the map. This Pal is worth the trip to the hidden location, as it can learn a ton of other powerful moves alongside Mystic Whirlwind.
2 Beam Comet
Fires innumerable beams that explode on impact
- Power: 140
- Cast Time: 50 Seconds
Taking a massive step upwards, we have Beam Comet with a whopping 140 in Power, and a Cast Time of 50 seconds. Despite taking a good amount of time to cast this move, it can absolutely obliterate enemies and bosses with incredibly high damage. You won't have to worry about winning the battle with this Active Skill on your side.
Beam Comet is exclusive to Jetragon, a Legendary Pal found as a Field Boss near the Beach of Everlasting Summer. This Pal is certainly one of the most difficult to catch at Level 50, but is sure to make a fantastic addition to your team with the use of Beam Comet on its side.
1 Dragon Meteor
Summons small meteorites that are launched at the enemy
- Power: 150
- Cast Time: 55 Seconds
Another exclusive Active Skill to Jetragon, Dragon Meteor cranks things up a notch with intense Power at 150 and a Cast Time of 55 seconds. With Jetragon and Dragon Meteor at your fingertips, there's no chance of being taken down, especially by any Dark-type enemies like the powerful Astegon.
Though Dragon Meteor is mostly an end-game move, it is one of the best in the game that will get you through any additional Legendary bosses you wish to defeat. In particular, Necromus, a Dark-type Legendary alongside Paladius, will be a breeze to catch with Jetragon equipped with Dragon Meteor.
