Fishing is a popular pastime in life sim games, and Palia is bursting with various fish to catch, with some rarer or more profitable than others. One such fish is Yellow Perch, one of Palia's more common fish species. However, it's a fish you can only find in some areas of the game map, so you might be eager to know where to find Yellow Perch in Palia and how to catch one. While the precise location of Yellow Perch can be tricky to narrow down, it's not too challenging to get hold of once you know where to look.
Palia: How To Find An Eyeless Minnow
Hoping to catch an Eyeless Minnow in Palia? This guide outlines the fish's exact location and details what it can be used for.
Yellow Perch is also one of Palia's easier fish to catch, given you don't need a lot of equipment to get hold of one, taking you back to basics with fishing.
Where To Find Yellow Perch In Palia
In Palia, you can find Yellow Perch swimming in rivers located in Bahari Bay, for instance, in the rivers surrounding the Flooded Fortress, as pictured on the map above. Rivers in Palia tend to be larger, enclosed stretches of water rather than ponds or oceans near the coastline. You could also try searching for Yellow Perch in rivers near Proudhorn Pass or the Statue Garden map areas.
Fishing in Palia is also a bit different from other life sim games as you can't necessarily fish in every patch of water visible. For instance, once you get to the Flooded Fortress, you'll find that you can only fish in some spots, such as near the waterfall or in areas that are not too shallow. The Flooded Fortress is one of the best places to find Yellow Perch, but you're also likely to come across other species of Palia fish there, like Silvery Minnow and Rosy Bitterling.
How To Catch Yellow Perch In Palia
You can catch Yellow Perch in Palia at any time of day without bait, so you don't need any of Palia's Glow Worms or specialist equipment beyond a fishing rod and hook. A standard fishing rod without any bait is enough to catch Yellow Perch, provided you're fishing in the correct location. To catch Yellow Perch, cast your fishing line and wait for the fish to bite. If you see a medium-sized, yellow-green fish take a nibble, you know you've got a Yellow Perch in your grasp. Reel the fish as usual to fish up a Yellow Perch.
Yellow Perch are a common fish in Bahari's rivers, but you may find they might not spawn immediately as much as other varieties. However, keep trying, and you'll soon catch one relatively quickly. Once caught, you can sell Yellow Perch for 33 gold and around 49 for Star Quality. You can also try using Yellow Perch in Palia's cooking recipes.
