Where To Find Sunburst Batterflies in Palia

Sunburst Batterfly Locations In Palia

An Uncommon rarity bug, the Sunburst Batterfly is a deep blue and orange-colored butterfly that many players can find during their exploration of the Elderwood. More specifically, the Sunburst Batterfly will spawn within the Elderwood Forest biome, including the Mitana Grove, Honeymiel Slope, Jeunesse Pass, and Deep Woods areas, between 6 am and 6 pm daily, as pictured below:

It’s also possible for Sunburst Batterflies to spawn within the Lilac Cavern area, but we highly recommend the above-mentioned locations first. You can use any Smoke Bombs, but we prefer the Sneaky or Sticky Smoke Bombs as they won’t alert bugs or slow them down when thrown at bugs.

Like most gatherables and bugs that call the Elderwood home, the Sunburst Batterfly can be infected, making it more challenging to catch. As such, you can craft and use the Elderwood Smoke Bombs or have the Bag of Illusion II relic active during your farming and mining runs.

Aside from the Sunburst Batterfly, other unique bugs can be caught in the same area during the daytime. If you’re grinding towards achievements, why don’t you host a bug-catching party by grabbing a couple of Honey Lures and Smoke Bombs and utilizing the Party Chat feature to signal a party nearby?

What Are Sunburst Batterflies For in Palia?

Outside of contributing progress to several in-game achievements like the Catch Bugs and the Bug Catcher achievement series, the Sunburst Batterfly is a quest item required to catch for the Daily Quest, Burst of Sunlight. If you receive this Daily Quest, completing it will award you with three Tailor Tickets, which can help you unlock new hair and make-up looks for your in-game character.

The Sunburst Batterfly can be a bug requirement item needed to craft the QualityUp Fertilizer, but is also an item needed for the Elderwood Idol II item. Lastly, should you be lucky to catch a Star-quality Sunburst Batterfly, you can place it anywhere on your Housing Plot as a decor item, sell it to pocket some extra Gold, or gift it to the Villager NPC, Auni, to increase your Friendship with him.
