Blizzard has revealed the new Mythic skin coming to Overwatch 2 as part of Season 12, along with the Battle Pass skins players will be able to unlock. Overwatch 2 Season 12 begins on August 20, bringing with it the brand-new Support hero Juno and the exciting new Clash game mode.
Overwatch 2's Clash game mode is a fast-paced new mode that features nostalgic maps based on Temple of Anubis and Hanamura. Its debut on August 20 will see both maps featured, and should give longtime fans more playlist variety in both Quick Play and Competitive. While Overwatch 2 players are battling it out in Clash and trying out Juno's kit, they will be able to work towards the new Battle Pass, which will include its own set of skins as well as Mythic Prisms that can be used to unlock the new Mythic Anubis Reaper skin.
Blizzard has pulled the curtain back on the new Mythic coming in Season 12, Mythic Anubis Reaper, which sees the popular Damage hero take on a new look inspired by the Egyptian Sun God Ra. Those that complete the Overwatch 2 Season 12 Premium Battle Pass will get 80 Mythic Prisms, enough to unlock the new Reaper skin, as well as the Legendary skins Bast Doomfist, Oni Ana, Thoth Illari, Dorothy Ashe, and Captain Sigma. A handful of other skins will also be featured in the Overwatch 2 Season 12 premium Battle Pass, on top of a 20% season-long XP boost and 500 credits. The free Battle Pass will let players unlock "dozens of new cosmetics" plus 600 Overwatch Coins and 1500 credits. Some new skins will also be available to purchase in the shop. In the meantime, the returning Mythic skin for Season 12 is Ancient Caller Moira. Plus, fans will have the chance to unlock the Mythic Midnight Sun weapon skin for Ana.
Overwatch 2 Season 12 Skins
Mythic Weapons are a relatively new concept in Overwatch 2. The first Mythic Weapon was added in Season 11, giving Reinhardt a demonic new hammer with all kinds of flashy visual effects. Blizzard did not reveal what the new Ana Mythic Weapon skin looks like at the time of this writing, but it will be interesting to see what it has to offer.
On top of all this new content, Overwatch 2 Season 12 will also be making some updates to Competitive mode, including how Group Respawn works, and it will also be making some hero balance updates. Specific patch notes are coming next week, but fans already know that Lifeweaver is getting some changes.
