Overwatch 2 Wuyang Hero Trial Start and End Times

  • From August 14 at 10 AM PT to August 19 at 10 AM PT

That said, fans hoping to try out this new hero can do so right now. The support character’s hero trial has officially begun, giving players the chance to try out Wuyang in Quick Play through August 18. Like in previous hero trials, players will not be able to earn progress on Wuyang's badges or stats during this time, and he cannot currently be used in Competitive Play or Stadium.

Most hero trials in Overwatch 2’s history have lasted for four days. However, players will have a whopping five days to play Wuyang, or a total of 120 hours to experiment with his exciting suite of abilities.

The new Overwatch 2 support hero’s weapon, Xuanwu Staff, launches a controllable water orb as its damaging primary attack, while it creates a passive heal-over-time effect on an ally that can be empowered like Mercy’s Caduceus staff to provide greater healing for a short time with its alt fire. His abilities, Guardian Wave and Rushing Torrent, help him disrupt enemies and maneuver around the battlefield, respectively. Lastly, his Ultimate, Tidal Blast, places a protective buff on an ally or himself that detonates after a short time, knocking down nearby enemies and massively healing the target.

Though he will only be playable for a few days, fans won’t have to wait long to get their hands on Wuyang officially. The new hero arrives in Season 18, which starts on August 26, or exactly a week after his trial ends. The update hasn’t been officially revealed yet, but fans already know several other major features coming in the next season, including a Competitive rank reset, a significant rework to Perks, the Payload Race Stadium game mode, and a Mythic skin for Sojourn in Overwatch 2. Blizzard will be at Gamescom from August 20-24, so fans can likely expect to learn more about Season 18 during the convention.
