- Fellow fans attempted to replicate the glitch, showcasing the hilarity and chaos it caused.
An Overwatch 2 player recently accidentally threw Torbjorn’s turret into the trunk of a truck on Numbani, creating a nearly indestructible obstacle for their opponents. This crazy turret spot was seemingly the result of a glitch, but the Overwatch 2 clip was no less hilarious for how overpowered of a situation it created.
As one of the original heroes in Overwatch, Torbjorn has been terrorizing enemy teams with well-placed turrets for over eight years now. His turret is not as deadly as it used to be back when Overwatch first came out, but Torbjorn can be a terrifying opponent if one finds a good spot to hide his turret.
Overwatch 2 Dev Reveals Most Toxic Ranks
A developer working on Overwatch 2 reveals the most toxic ranks players can encounter while climbing the Competitive ladder in the game.
Now, one Overwatch 2 player may have accidentally discovered one of the most overpowered places to build Torbjorn’s turret. Overwatch 2 fan and Redditor AnimalFire77 was playing defense on Numbani when they tossed their Torbjorn turret onto a nearby vehicle. However, when the turret landed, it somehow clipped through the roof and hung upside down within the trunk of the truck. Though partially inside the vehicle, the turret was still able to fire on the enemy team with no problems.
Torbjorn’s Trunk Turret on Numbani in Overwatch 2
In a follow-up video showing more footage of the battle, the enemy Overwatch 2 team's Roadhog can be seen coming right up to the vehicle, shooting and meleeing it multiple times with little success. They were finally able to destroy the turret and push past the point, but given the situation, it seems likely AnimalFire77 got lucky and threw their turret at the exact spot where it could clip into the car.
Needless to say, AnimalFire77’s fellow Overwatch 2 fans got a kick out of this hilarious play. Some players tried to replicate this odd placement of Torbjorn's turret in Overwatch 2, but only a few were able to manage it after significant trial and error, further suggesting it was a glitch and a fluke. Other fans shared stories of Torbjorn turret glitches of their own, such as one where a player’s turret could shoot through a wall on the Horizon Lunar Colony map.
Fans of Torbjorn’s turrets likely won’t want to miss out on Overwatch: Classic. The limited-time game mode brings the original Overwatch heroes back to their roots, featuring their original kits – including Torbjorn’s upgradable turret and Armor Packs. It is a good thing that Numbani was not one of the original 12 maps in Overwatch, as an original Torbjorn turret in this spot could possibly win the entire game single-handedly.
