Overwatch 2 is giving away the Epic New Era Zarya skin and a free Epic Loot Box as Twitch Drops to celebrate the Overwatch Spotlight, but fans must watch a featured creator channel in order to earn them. By watching qualifying Overwatch 2 streamers for an hour, players can add these free items to their account without even loading up the game.
The hype is real in Overwatch 2 right now, as the Overwatch Spotlight is scheduled to begin on February 4 at 10 AM PT/1 PM ET. While exactly what is going to be revealed is still shrouded in mystery, Overwatch 2 has teased several new heroes, story developments revolving around Vendetta, and major gameplay changes that all have strong chances of appearing in the showcase.

Finnegan Fox, the beloved fox who voiced Kiriko's kitsune spirit in Overwatch 2, has passed away, leaving fans around the world to mourn.
How to Get Overwatch Spotlight Twitch Drops
If the Overwatch Spotlight were not exciting enough on its own, Blizzard has officially revealed some Twitch Drops gamers can earn during the broadcast. By watching an hour of Overwatch 2 on Twitch once the Showcase begins, fans can earn the Epic New Era Zarya skin and an Epic Loot Box. However, not just any Overwatch 2 streamer on Twitch will do; once their Battle.net and Twitch accounts are connected, they must watch one of a select group of content creators chosen by Blizzard in order to earn these drops.
This list has been filtered to include only featured streamers on Twitch, rather than Chinese-only platforms like Bilibili.

It is currently unclear exactly how long these Twitch Drops will be available, but if it is anything like last year’s Overwatch 2 Spotlight, players will likely have several hours after the showcase is over to get their rewards. That said, unlike typical Overwatch 2 Twitch Drops, which can take 10 hours or more to earn over the course of a couple of weeks, fans will almost certainly need to claim this batch within the same day.
This New Era skin features Zarya sporting an Overwatch-themed blue outfit, complete with the organization’s logo. The Russian hero is a relative newcomer to Overwatch after having been recruited by Cassidy, and this skin reaffirms her allegiance.
The Overwatch 2 Spotlight Event Is Almost Here
The Overwatch Spotlight event itself promises to deliver major announcements for the hero shooter, which will almost certainly involve new hero reveals. Over the last month, Overwatch 2 has teased three heroes that could make their way into the game this year:
- Anran Ye, the fire-bending sister of Wuyang
- Emre Sarioglu, the Overwatch-turned-Talon operative with a dark secret
- Vaira Singhania, codenamed Domina, the granddaughter of Vishkar Corporation’s founder
There is also fan speculation that Overwatch 2 might be planning to release more than the typical three heroes this year.

Beyond these unconfirmed heroes, Vendetta, the new character added during Season 20, has been making moves across various short stories and comics. The villain is gunning to take over Talon, and if rumors and leaks are to be believed, she will have to take down Doomfist in order to do so. Talon has even taken over Overwatch 2 itself, with both in-game menus and social media logos changing in the process. Several images with the phrase “Reign of Talon” were shared on Twitter during this time, though they were quickly removed, which could have been an accidental leak of the name or theme for Season 21, arriving February 10.
This rebranding may go even deeper than that, however. The February 4 Overwatch Spotlight event conspicuously dropped the “2” from its headline, and some updates to the game's Steam page likewise removed the sequel digit from its title. It is unclear exactly why this happened, but it could be that Blizzard is planning on rebranding Overwatch 2 simply as Overwatch once again. Players will have to tune in to the Overwatch Spotlight to find out for sure.
