Given its live-service nature, Activision Blizzard continues to update Overwatch 2 with new content, cosmetics, and more, and the Season 3 roadmap has just been revealed alongside a trailer. Similar to the first Overwatch title, Overwatch 2 has already expanded since its launch and will continue to with the Season 3 goodies confirmed by the latest roadmap.The Overwatch team has confirmed numerous things coming to Overwatch 2 with Season 3, including a limited-time event and collaboration, and the already-teased map Antarctica Peninsula. Overwatch 2 Season 2 had several things that enticed some lapsed players to return to the game, many of which will remain with the release of Season 3 like skins, the Shambali Monastery map, and more. Like the rotating cosmetics shop in the first two Overwatch 2 seasons, Season 3 is also expected to have a cycle of skins, emotes, and more on offer for fans with excess Overwatch Coins. In anticipation of Season 3's launch tomorrow, the Overwatch Twitter account shared a trailer revealing many aspects of the latest content drop included in the new update. The brief video thoroughly reveals the fresh Kiriko Mythic skin which will expand upon the launch hero's limited variety of looks in comparison to the original Overwatch heroes. The Overwatch 2 Season 3 clip then goes on to highlight cosmetics for Ashe, D.Va, Genji, Junkrat, Junker Queen, Mei, Moira, Reaper, and Zenyatta, while distinguishing what will be in the battle pass and which are shop offerings.
According to the official roadmap, Overwatch 2 Season 3 will have a Valentine's Day event revolving around Cupid Hanzo, and a Pachi Mari-themed event that includes a new game mode. The Overwatch World Cup returns later this month, while a dating simulator dubbed "LoverWatch" has been confirmed for February 13, and a collaboration with the anime One Punch Man begins on March 7. Beyond the aforementioned Season 3 offerings, fresh Twitch drops have been confirmed, a Honey Bee Mercy was revealed for the Overwatch 2 starter pack, and the ultimate battle pass bundle features Beekeeper Sigma alongside the tier skips and Overwatch Coins.
Unlike the previous Overwatch 2 Antarctic Peninsula teasers from Activision Blizzard, the Season 3 trailer shows how it may look during combat with an Orisa pushing a Bastion and Tracer before being taken out by an enemy Wrecking Ball. The Ultimate Valentine event runs from February 14 until February 28, the One Punch Man collaboration takes place from March 7 to April 6, and the PachiMarchi festivities have been confirmed for March 21 through April 4.
