Dame Chance, the sinister Mythic weapon skin for Widowmaker, is officially available to buy in Overwatch 2. With four different tiers of unlockable effects, the fifth Mythic weapon skin in Overwatch 2 is one that fans of the deadly Talon assassin likely won’t want to miss.

Mythic weapon skins are a type of premium cosmetic Overwatch 2 introduced in Season 11. Typically released with each season’s midway patch, Overwatch 2 had Mythic weapon skins before Season 15: Reinhardt’s Bound Demon, Ana’s Midnight Sun, Soldier: 76’s Deliverance, and Ashe’s Lead Rose.

Now that Overwatch 2 has released its mid-Season 15 update, the fifth Mythic weapon skin has officially arrived in the FPS. Dame Chance is a graceful and terrifying sniper rifle ostensibly given to Widowmaker by Maximilien, “Talon’s favorite financier.” The weapon features unique sound effects, a glowing ammunition core, and spider-like UI elements that track kills and evolve as players take down their enemies. Unlocking all of Dame Chance also grants fans access to a unique weapon flourish where Widowmaker spins her Grappling Hook, and an on-kill effect featuring a purple explosion evocative of a spider’s web.

Like previous Mythic Weapon Skins in Overwatch 2, Dame Chance is obtained via the Mythic Shop. The weapon can be unlocked in its entirety for 80 Mythic Prisms – 50 for the base weapon, and 10 each for the three upgrade tiers to unlock the reactivity, weapon flourish, and kill effect, respectively. Players who don’t have the Mythic Prisms to spare can also purchase Dame Chance directly for $40 in a bundle that includes 20 Battle Pass tier skips.

Out of the five Mythic weapon skins available in Overwatch 2 so far, three of them – Ana, Ashe, and Widowmaker – are all snipers. What’s more, these three characters have also received Mythic hero skins across the game’s 15 seasons since its release. Given the high skill required to play these heroes, giving them Mythic weapon skins makes a lot of sense, though some fans are hoping to see future seasons branch out to other types of heroes in the future. Players will have to see how long it takes for Hanzo, the last Overwatch 2 sniper at the moment, to get his own Mythic weapon skin.
