Summary
- Players are asking for the unused hero Recluse to be added as a tank to Overwatch 2.
- Recent hero additions in 2022, like Venture and Juno, have expanded the Overwatch 2 hero selection.
Some Overwatch 2 players are remembering Recluse, one of the unused heroes, and are asking for her to be added to the game as a tank. Overwatch introduced players to a rich cast of characters, and it's been no different with Overwatch 2. Since the game's launch, Blizzard has been adding new heroes with different abilities and stories that continue to expand the game's vast universe.
One of the most notable additions is Kiriko, the charismatic character who debuted in the game in October 2022 with the shooter's launch, becoming one of the best Overwatch 2 supports. Sojourn and Junker Queen were launched in April and June 2022, when Blizzard held the PvP beta. In December last year, it was Mauga's turn to debut, becoming one of the game's most controversial heroes. Overwatch 2 has also seen a variety of heroes never utilized, and now players are asking to see the inclusion of one character in particular.
Overwatch 2 Brings Back Popular Skin Series
After the first successful run, Overwatch 2 brings back a popular skin series for players who didn't previously get the cosmetics.
Reddit user ScorinNotborin recently remembered Recluse, one of Overwatch 2's unreleased heroes, and said they would like to see the character added to the game as a tank. They shared Recluse's concept art, showing a character with pink hair on one side of her head, while the other side is shaved, carrying purple and green gear in the shape of a spider. The concept art hints that Recluse would have two forms, similar to how Ramattra works, with the second form releasing large spider legs. A second piece of concept art shows that, in addition, Recluse would be able to shoot a laser beam from her mouth and send out spider robots. In the comments, other Redditors noted how aspects of her design are reminiscent of Ramattra, Junker Queen, and Widowmaker.
Overwatch 2 Players Remember the Unusued Character Recluse
Recluse is one of the characters who appeared in the pitch for the project named Prometheus, which would eventually be called Overwatch. While most of these heroes didn't make the cut, several names are now available in the Overwatch 2 roster, like Reaper, Winston, Iris (now Echo), Ironclad (now Torbjorn), and Mercy, one of Overwatch 2's most popular characters, who was previously known as Angelica.
While players don't know if Blizzard will add Recluse to the roster at some point, the shooter has made two additions to the game's roster this year. In April, players greeted Venture, a charismatic archaeologist, and the game's first non-binary hero. August marked Juno's debut in Overwatch 2, after several teasers and much anticipation from players to finally see the character previously known only as “Space Ranger” joining the ranks of the hero shooter.
