Blizzard seems to be giving extra attention to Reinhardt in Overwatch 2 as of late, which is great news for fans of the hero. Considering Reinhardt's popularity, it's no surprise that Blizzard has released many cosmetics for him over the years, and in fact, just recently gave him what is easily one of the most impressive skins in the entire game.
Overwatch 2 recently kicked off its Transformers crossover event. From now until July 22, Overwatch 2 fans have the chance to purchase an Optimus Prime skin for Reinhardt. The incredibly detailed skin is the headliner when it comes to the crossover, though the other Transformers skins are impressive as well. Reinhardt's Optimus Prime skin has been praised for accurately recreating the iconic character and has proven to be one of the best crossover skins to date, though there's even more for Reinhardt fans to be happy about this month.

Reinhardt Has Received a Big Buff
In a controversial move, Blizzard has massively buffed all the Overwatch 2 tanks, Reinhardt included. Blizzard's decision to buff Overwatch 2 tanks seems to be in response to fan complaints about the Tank role, though some feel as though this doesn't solve the problem in the same way that a shift back to 6v6 would. And while some of the buffs applied to the other Tanks in the game may somewhat negate Reinhardt's boost, it's still nice to see the beloved hero get some much-needed attention.
As of the latest Overwatch 2 update, Reinhardt's shield has had its maximum health increased from 1400 to 1600, while the regeneration rate has been increased from 140 to 160 health per second. Meanwhile, Reinhardt's Charge has been buffed so that wall impact now does 300 damage instead of 275. These aren't wildly dramatic buffs, but they should still help Reinhardt be a more viable pick in the hero shooter.
Reinhardt is Getting the First Mythic Weapon Skin
If the Optimus Prime skin and buffs weren't enough, Reinhardt fans also have the game's first-ever Mythic Weapon skin to look forward to on July 23. The July 23 update for Overwatch 2 will add the Mythic Bound Demon Reinhardt Weapon Skin to the game for 50 Mythic Prisms, with additional levels available for 10 Mythic Prisms a pop. This special weapon skin will add special effects to Reinhardt's attacks, with one specific example provided being a "fiery surge" effect for Earthshatter. Mythic Weapon Skins are an interesting new addition to Overwatch 2's cosmetic pool, and it's great to see Blizzard use a classic hero like Reinhardt to kick off the feature.
