Blizzard recently announced the return of a series of rare Overwatch skins coming back in Overwatch 2 for a short period of time. Players who originally missed any Overwatch League skins, including all-star and championship skins, will now be able to purchase them once more in Overwatch 2.

The Overwatch League was a professional Overwatch esports league that ran from 2018 to 2023. At its peak, the league featured twenty teams all based in major cities across the globe and competed regularly from January to July. With the addition of OWL to the professional esports scene, a series of skins were added into Overwatch for each team, including home and away versions. Alongside this, special skins were also released for champion teams, all-stars, and MVP players throughout the league. The skins were originally available for purchase with OWL tokens, in game currency used specifically for OWL content, and unfortunately left the store following the dissolution of the Overwatch League in 2023.

However, Blizzard recently announced that these rare skins would be making a return to the Overwatch store this fall. As competitive Overwatch moves on from the OWL into the Overwatch Champions Series, Blizzard is unvaulting several items from the OWL shop, making them available to players once more. This will include new and legacy Overwatch League team skins, home and away skins for OWL and Overwatch Contenders, and several other in-game items. Alongside that, all championship, all-star, and other legendary skins will also be available for purchase once more. The OWL inventory sale will run from September 10 to October 15.

Overwatch League Skins Back in the Shop, Includes Several Bundles at Discounted Prices

Bundles available for purchase:

  • September 10 through September 24: All-Stars Unvault Bundle with All-Star Mercy, All-Star Reinhardt, All-Star Lucio, and All-Star D.Va.
  • October 1 through October 8: Overwatch League Legends Mega Bundle with All-Star Tracer, All-Star Genji, Zen-Nakji Zenyatta, and Good and Evil Echo.
  • October 8 through October 15: Overwatch League 2022 Tournament Bundle with Luchador Reaper, Royal Knight Mercy, Happi Genji, and Clockwork Zenyatta.

All of these skins will be available for individual purchase in the OWL shop with OWL tokens. Additionally, several bundles will be made available through the Overwatch 2 main shop and will be able to be purchased with Overwatch 2 coins. This will happen in three different waves, with the first bundle featuring all-star skins available from September 10 to September 24. Following that, the Overwatch League Legends Mega Bundle will be available from October 1 through October 8 and include a series of legendary Overwatch skins from the OWL. The final bundle to go on sale will be the Overwatch League 2022 Tournament Bundle, which will include popular skins from the 2022 season and be available from October 8 to October 15.

The announcement of these skins is huge news for all Overwatch League fans. Players will now be able to complete their collections of OWL skins and spend their OWL tokens as intended. The Overwatch League shop will remain open until 2025, giving Overwatch 2 players plenty of time to snag these skins before they are gone forever.
