Overwatch 2 is celebrating Pride in a big way this year, with a free Soldier: 76 skin and emote available in the game, a new short story featuring the old soldier, and even an in-person fan art display on the Blizzard campus. Players can enjoy Pride in Overwatch 2 both in and out of the game from May 30 until June 30.
Pride is a month-long celebration in June that honors LGBTQ+ people and movements, highlighting the struggles that got them to where they are today. Overwatch 2 has celebrated Pride in years past, as many developers and playable heroes alike are a part of the queer community.
Overwatch 2 Has Everything It Needs to 'Steal' a Neat Marvel Rivals Feature
Blizzard's Overwatch 2 should consider adopting one cosmetic feature from NetEase Games' Marvel Rivals, another prominent hero-shooter title.
This year, Pride is coming back to Future Earth with a heavy focus on Jack Morrison, better known as Soldier: 76 – one of the original LGBTQ+ heroes in Overwatch 2. Fans who log in to the game any time from May 30 to June 30 will earn the brand-new Resilient Rare skin for Soldier: 76, along with a rainbow smoke bomb emote. During this time, the Midtown map will once again display Pride parade decorations, featuring confetti, rainbow crosswalks, and other colorful flourishes often found at such events in real life.

Beyond these in-game celebrations, players can enjoy a new Overwatch 2 Pride short story called "Futures Past." Starring Soldier: 76 and Illari as they work to protect the legacy of the Inti Warriors in Runasapi, the old soldier is forced to confront his past with Vincent, Morrison's former lover. Complete with emotional illustrations of the couple when they were young, this story of love, sacrifice, and healing in the aftermath of Overwatch’s fall fleshes out Soldier: 76 in an interesting way.
In the real world, Blizzard is preparing a special Pride-themed Overwatch 2 art collage. Until the end of June, fans can send digital or physical Overwatch 2 art to the community team, which will then select their favorite pieces to display on the actual Blizzard campus in Irvine, California. It also shared three coloring book pages for players to enjoy, featuring Jack and Vincent, Tracer and Emily, and Venture.
Though not explicitly a part of its Pride celebration, Season 17 begins on June 24, bringing with it a Mythic skin for D.Va, a Mythic Weapon skin for Reaper, and the Aatlis map for Flashpoint in normal Overwatch 2, along with new updates for Stadium. Until then, fans still have time to complete the Stadium: Initiation in-game event, which now awards a free Epic Loot Box for gamers who play a couple of Stadium matches while in a group.
