Ashe mains in Overwatch 2 won't have to wait long until they can finally get their hands on the Mythic Lead Rose weapon skin for the hero, which is set to become available on January 21. This Mythic-tier weapon skin was previously announced to be coming in the current 14th season of Overwatch 2, making it the fourth Mythic weapon skin to be introduced to the game so far.
Mythic weapon skins are a relatively new type of cosmetic item that Overwatch 2 fans can unlock, with the concept first being introduced in the game's 11th season with Reinhardt's Bound Demon. These aren't to be confused with Mythic hero skins, however, which have been steadily introduced with each season since the launch of the sequel. Mythic weapons skins pack a variety of distinct features, such as reacting with sound and visual effects upon eliminating an enemy, providing the ability to use weapon animations, and even causing enemies to explode in unique visual effects upon being eliminated.

Blizzard has been quite forthcoming with its testing of 6v6 gameplay in Overwatch 2, and the future of this brand of gameplay already seems clear.
Now, nearly halfway into Season 14 of Overwatch 2, the team behind the game confirms that fans will be able to unlock the Lead Rose Mythic weapon skin in just a few days. The item will officially become available on January 21, and will presumably be redeemable and upgradeable at the same Mythic Prism cost as previous Mythic-quality weapon skins. This relatively new currency in Overwatch 2 is used to purchase any of the Mythic skins and weapon skins available, with each weapon skin costing 50 prisms to unlock. Owned Mythic weapon skins can then be upgraded three times to a maximum level of 4 at the cost of 10 additional prisms per level, with each level granting a weapon skin additional cosmetic effects.
Overwatch 2's New Mythic Weapon Skin is for Ashe
The specifics of the Lead Rose skin's cosmetic effects aren't yet known, but the weapon model itself has become quite popular among fans of the down-to-business gang leader in Overwatch 2. The skin transforms Ashe's signature Viper rifle into a more gothic-looking weapon constructed of a mostly black and pink-red color scheme, complete with glowing rose chain decals along the rifle's barrel.
Season 14 has been a pretty big one for Overwatch 2 overall, introducing the game's latest tank hero, Hazard, and digging in on the goal of bringing 6v6 back. Fans of Overwatch 2 can enjoy an extended 6v6 playtesting period, which is due to shift into a mode accessible via the arcade during the season.
