Summary

  • Overwatch 2 players are inspired by the upcoming character Juno, with one Reddit user sketching an alien skin concept for the new hero.
  • Juno had a trial run from July 19 to July 21 and will be fully added to the game with the introduction of Season 12 on August 20.
  • Given Juno's role as a space ranger, it's possible that the new season could be space-themed.

Overwatch 2 players excited to try Juno when she's added to the game as part of Season 12 are already creating impressive fan designs for the new hero. Following her reveal, Juno went live in Overwatch 2 for a trial period from July 19 until July 21 in which players had the chance to get a feel for her abilities and play style.

Many Overwatch 2 players are likening Juno's playstyle to heroes like Ana and Lucio for her Mediblaster's ability to heal allies while harming opponents, as well as her large Hyper Ring portal, which gives teammates a boost of speed when passed through. While Juno can hover in the air, she doesn't quite have the maneuverability of a hero like Echo, nor the height of original Overwatch hero Pharah. Still, with abilities like her Pulsar Torpedoes and Orbital Ray ultimate, Juno will likely make for a fun support hero to play.

As the month-long wait for Juno's official arrival in Overwatch 2 begins, fans are already busy coming up with interesting ideas for character skins. Reddit user Sunshxvine shared an impressive 2D concept skin design for Juno that turns the human space ranger into an actual alien with teal skin, pink flowing hair, large black eyes, and two antennae. This extraterrestrial version of Juno has no need for a space helmet, and the artist also replaced her oversized space ranger boots with roller skates. Sunshxvine mentioned that their Extraterrestrial Juno skin was inspired by Ulala from Sega's Space Channel 5, as well as League of Legends' Space Groove skins. They also noted that they're looking to do a creepier Juno concept skin inspired by Xenomorphs from the Alien franchise.

Overwatch 2 Fan Creates Concept For Extraterrestrial Juno Skin

Whether Blizzard will make an alien skin for Juno at some point in the future is uncertain, but for the time being, the community has plenty of ideas to share. While Overwatch typically tries to remain consistent with the visual identity of its characters, the team has introduced alien skins for heroes like Winston and Doomfist in the past. With that being said, Juno fans expecting a ton of new skins for the hero immediately following her release shouldn't get their hopes up, as it typically takes several seasons for newer heroes to build up a sizable pool of skins.

Season 11 of Overwatch 2 will start wrapping up over the coming weeks as Season 12 approaches. With Juno headlining the new season, not much else is known about any new maps or modes on the way. However, as Juno is a space ranger, there's a possibility that some elements of Season 12 could be space-themed, perhaps even the theme of the battle pass. Overwatch 2 fans will need to wait a couple more weeks to find out ahead of Season 12's launch on August 20.
