A group of Overwatch 2 fans recently collaborated to create an awesome custom character named Strike, an electricity-themed damage hero. Though this fan-made Overwatch 2 character is not actually available in the game, his custom model, splash art, and user interface information make him look like the real deal.

The creativity of gaming communities cannot be understated, and Overwatch 2 is no exception. From Lord of the Rings skin concepts for Overwatch 2 heroes to character cosplay, players have shared tons of creative projects over the years.

June 17 is Going to Be a Big Day for Overwatch 2

Big things are happening in Overwatch 2 soon, with June 17 being a day that interested fans will certainly want to mark on their calendars.

Now, some Overwatch 2 fans have revealed a custom hero, complete with screenshots, abilities, and more. Conceptualized by Overwatch Cavalry manager Zenofy, Strike is an electricity-based damage hero featuring a sleek design and high-risk, high-reward abilities. In addition to several mocked-up screenshots of UI elements and first-person gameplay featuring this hero, Zenofy collaborated with fan and artist Yuli_GameArt to create Overwatch 2-style main menu key art for this character, complete with a reference to the hero’s fictitious launch event.

Strike – Fan-Made Overwatch 2 Damage Hero Concept

This isn’t the first time players have seen Strike. Zenofy shared the first instance of concept art for this hero in 2022, with a refined version in 2023. Then, in 2024, they revealed an in-game render of the hero made by PJRascals, along with conceptualized abilities for the character. Nearly a dozen artists have been involved in the process of creating this incredible concept, including Zenofy themselves, who provided graphic design elements.

Needless to say, fans have been consistently shocked by the quality of this character concept. He is obviously not a playable character in Overwatch 2, but judging from the mostly positive response to Strike, players wish that he was. Either way, Zenofy has teased potential highlight intros and even faux gameplay footage of this character could come later on, so interested fans should keep an eye out for more developments on this project in the future.

While Strike likely won’t ever arrive in Overwatch 2, two other heroes are coming to the FPS later this year. A water-based support hero codenamed Aqua is set to arrive in Season 18 – and with their hero trial planned for Season 17, players can expect to learn more about them in about a month. Meanwhile, the currently-unannounced character from Season 20 is still shrouded in mystery; evidence from the Overwatch 2 Spotlight event suggests Hero 45 may be a sword-wielding gladiatorial combatant. Fans will have to wait and see how these exciting new characters play once they are officially revealed by Blizzard.
