While the first beta for Overwatch 2 has just about reached its end, a gamer has discovered a powerful new glitch in the final days of the beta. Hopefully, this discovery will lead to the bug being fixed before the next Overwatch 2 beta, as Baptiste could be more dominant than ever if not.

While Baptiste’s Amplification Matrix can be deadly when paired up with a Sniper like Widowmaker or Hanzo, it is his Immortality Field that really makes him an asset to a team. This ability takes the form of a floating disc, and every friendly player that stands around the Immortality Field cannot be killed by the enemy team as long as it is intact. While it is easy enough to destroy, the enemy team failing to focus on it can see a lot of damage being negated. Further, a new glitch makes it far tougher to take down.

The glitch in question allows another healer to keep an Immortality Field alive even after it has taken some damage. As shown by Reddit user T-Jefferson, the friendly Ana is able to shoot the Immortality Field with her Biotic Rifle. Just like with an ally, her round restores the health of the Immortality Field, letting her heal the device and make it stronger. If an Ana consistently fires at the device from afar, she could keep it up until the Baptiste heals the rest of the team.

Unsurprisingly, many were wondering the limits of this healing, as it is unclear if only Ana can restore the Immortality Field or if all healers could boost its health. Regardless, the 5v5 approach for Overwatch 2 ensures that each team will always have two healers. As such, if this glitch remains in the game, pairing up Ana and Baptiste could prove to be a wise idea. Perhaps Blizzard could even make it a feature instead of a bug.

One of the top comments joked that the Ana should Nano Boost the Immortality Field. While this is likely impossible, it is fun to imagine what a Nano Boosted Immortality Field would be like. Perhaps it could damage any enemies that walked inside it, or maybe it could heal allies while simultaneously stopping damage. While the ability to heal the Immortality Field will likely be taken away before Overwatch 2’s next beta is released, this is absolutely an interesting discovery. With the find being made right as the beta was coming to an end, too, T-Jefferson was lucky that they spotted it.

With Ana already being strong in Overwatch 2’s new meta, the fact that she can lend some of that power to Baptiste is impressive. Assuming that she is not nerfed in future betas, she will likely remain a top tier Support hero once the full game is officially released.

Overwatch 2 is currently in development.
