Overwatch 2: Sombra Guide (Tips, Abilities, And More)

When gamers think of the best infiltrators in Overwatch 2, Tracer and Genji might come to mind. But Sombra has abilities that blow those two away.

Sombra mains and players hoping to get to grips with this hacking whiz might be wondering what her best skins are, so we will be looking at ten particularly noteworthy options for Sombra outfits.

10 Augmented

Blonde and Braided

  • Legendary Skin
  • Purchasable for 1000 Credits

Augumented was one of Sombra's first Legendary skins from the original Overwatch. It is the same as the Cyberspace skin, but Augmented is the one that makes it onto our list. Cyberspace is equally impressive, but Augmented is a little more visually striking thanks to the contrast of the black and pink outfit with Sombra's long, blonde braid. Despite the significant change in hairstyle and color, the skin still feels true to Sombra's character and fits in well with her design.

9 Aztec

An Ancient Empire

  • Legendary Skin
  • Sometimes available in the shop for 1900 Overwatch Coins

This is the first, but not the last, skin on this list that refers to Sombra's South American heritage, acting as an insight into the character's history as well as a cool skin in general. The Aztec skin, as the name suggests, is inspired by the Mesoamerican Aztec civilization that was prominent in Mexico from the 14th to the early 16th century. The Aztec skin features an intricate headset and outfit with patterns and designs that reflect the Aztec culture excellently, making for a historical skin that is also personal to Sombra.

8 Face Changer

Masked Up

  • Legendary Skin
  • Purchasable for 1500 Credits

This skin was released in 2020 during the Lunar New Year Event, and it takes inspiration from Chinese culture, much like most of the Lunar New Year skins. Face Changer is inspired by Bian Lian, performers in Sichuan opera who change their masks multiple times during their performance. The mask that Sombra wears with this skin has six different iterations that will change periodically, making for a super cool feature that is highly unique. The mask also required some testing of the game's established tech for it to be successfully implemented into the game, according to a blog from the Overwatch devs.

7 Bride

The Love of a Monster

  • Legendary Skin
  • Purchasable for 1500 Credits

The Bride skin for Sombra is a reference to the classic Bride of Frankenstein character, and not only does this outfit act as a great reference, but it also suits Sombra excellently, keeping in line with her character. As the Bride, Sombra's skin becomes pale green and has various stitches to show where she has been put together and brought back to life.

She also wears a unique wedding dress and has bandages around one leg and one arm. Her hair is transformed into a slicked-back quiff with shaved sides and white stripes, similar to the white-streaked beehive of the Bride of Frankenstein. This skin is a great outfit for Sombra, but it also works well as an accompanying skin to Roadhog Junkenstein's Monster skin.

6 Ed

Hackers United

Sombra equipped with the Ed skin in Overwatch 2
  • Legendary Skin
  • Originally released as part of the Overwatch 2 x Cowboy Bebop crossover
  • Sometimes available in the shop for 1900 Overwatch Coins

With this skin, Sombra cosplays the character Ed from the Cowboy Bebop anime. The skin is worth mentioning because of just how well Sombra channels Ed. Sombra and Ed have a lot in common, as both are expert hackers with a mischievous side. As well as having similar personalities, they also have similar styles that come through in this skin.

Sombra dons a spiky red hair do in Ed's style, but maintains the signature shaved side. She also has a complete outfit change to match Ed's white crop top and black shorts. This skin is sure to please Cowboy Bebop enthusiasts, but it is also a stylish and fitting look for Sombra in general.

5 Los Muertos

Day of the Dead

  • Legendary Skin
  • Purchasable for 1000 Credits

This is another of Sombra's first legendary skins, and although it is the same as Azúcar, Los Muertos is mentioned as the colors are more vibrant and eye-catching. The Los Muertos skin alludes to Sombra's criminal background, wherein she joined the Los Muertos gang after she was orphaned during the Omnic Crisis. She sells her hacking abilities and becomes a member of the crime syndicate, and this skin shows her wearing Los Muertos attire, including luminous face paint and a spiky pink mohawk.

The vibrant lime green and pink accents of the color scheme combine well with the black and dark gray that covers most of the main body of this skin, making for a bewitching look that is part of Sombra's history.

4 Folklórica

A Splash of Color

Next is another skin that alludes to Sombra's Mexican heritage, referring to a style of folk dance in Mexico known as baile folkloirco. Female performers of baile folkloric will wear large, colorful dresses when they dance and use flowers as accessories in their hair. Sombra's Folklórica skin reflects this well, maintaining her standard design but implementing bright pinks and purples. Sombra also has a colorful flower garland in her hair and a sleek updo.

Sombra post-rework is still a tricky opponent to face if you're unprepared. Luckily, a few heroes with the right tools can counter her in Overwatch 2.

Although Folklórica doesn't go all out by having Sombra in a stylized dress, it does reflect the attire of the traditional Mexican dance well with its vibrancy and flowery headdress.

3 Black Cat

Hide Your Diamonds

  • Purchasable for 1500 Credits

Black Cat has a cat burglar vibe that is sure to please Sombra fans who want to style her in something a little more sleek than usual. With this skin, Sombra wears a deep purple catsuit with glowing blue accents and blue claws.

She also has a short, purple hairstyle, cat ears, and a black eye mask, offering a nod to Selina Kyle/Catwoman from the Batman universe. The final touch on this skin is a whip that Sombra has attached to her hip, with a long end that hangs down in a way that looks like a tail.

2 Antifragile Slay Star

Slay, Queen

  • Legendary Skin
  • Originally released as part of the Overwatch 2 x Le Sserafim crossover
  • Sometimes available in the shop for 1900 Overwatch Coins

Sombra was one of the more surprising characters revealed to be a K-pop fan in the Le Sserafim crossover, but her outfit was by far one of the best. With her K-pop-inspired Antifragile Slay Star Skin, Sombra dons a high-legged bodysuit under dual-colored pants with a short jacket. She also has plenty of accessories, such as a cellphone with bunny ears, a fanny pack, a belt/sash around her waist that translates to "I love you" in Korean, and a backward baseball cap.

Sombra's hair also gets an awesome makeover, as she wears it in two, long, ombre braids that begin as dark purple and fade to lighter purple, then light blue. She also has a cool digital texture on the pieces of her hair sticking out of her cap at the front. Despite being released for an Overwatch 2 K-pop event, this is much more than just a skin for K-pop fans.

1 Demon Hunter

Worlds Collide

Sombra equipped with the Demon Hunter skin in Overwatch 2
  • Legendary Skin
  • Unlocked as part of the BlizzCon 2018 In-Game Goodies or by completing week three of the Halloween Terror 2019 challenge

Last but not least is the highly sought-after Demon Hunter skin for Sombra. The skin is a reference to the Demon Hunter class from the Diablo games, and it first came about back in 2018, given out as a freebie for those who attended BlizzCon 2018.

It then became unlockable in 2019 during the Halloween Terror event, but it is no longer available. Players can buy the Gilded Hunter skin for 3000 Overwatch Coins for a very similar outfit (the same skin but with a recolor), but the original Demon Hunter is still the champion when it comes to the best Sombra skins.
