A recent Blizzard email is asking Overwatch 2 players for their opinion on the game's battle pass and its microtransactions, signaling that the FPS might be looking for a change of those systems. In the days of the first Overwatch, a lot of fans found the loot box mechanic to be controversial, as it didn't guarantee what a player would get, instead encouraging the purchase of multiple boxes with real money. However, since Overwatch 2 introduced its battle pass and new ways for players to get skins, Blizzard has once again found itself landing in controversy.

It seems Blizzard has listened to fan feedback around Overwatch 2's microtransacitons and battle pass though, as the company has sent out emails to certain players asking for their opinions on the system. These emails were first discovered by Reddit user FelineXJunkie, who stated that they touched on topics regarding the game's store and its battle pass. FelineXJunkie said they hoped this was a "first step" towards a positive change for Overwatch 2 after the game has received a lot of criticism over its heavy focus on monetization.

While Overwatch 2 is a free-to-play title, and many other titles falling into that category focus on in-game stores, fans have found that the FPS from Blizzard has been especially controversial. It isn't known how Blizzard is targeting its consumer base for these emails, as some state they've been contacted after purchasing the Overwatch 2 Watchpoint Pack, while others haven't bought a single thing from the game store. Blizzard has stated in the past it is committed to supporting Overwatch 2, and it appears that these emails could be a part of that.

Among the issues fans take with the in-game store, Overwatch 2 has some other problems, including bugs that have prevented players picking heroes they've unlocked and the long queue times that plagued the game at launch. Despite these issues, a lot of players are still having fun with the shooter, and the Halloween event for Overwatch 2 has brought in a new game mode in the Wrath of the Bride. However, even with these positives, now that the initial hype of Overwatch 2's launch is wearing down somewhat, many fans are discovering the things they aren't too fond of in the game.
