As more details about Overwatch 2 Season 3 emerge, Activision Blizzard confirms that the Antarctic Peninsula map will allow players to "fish." Though fishing has been included in many games over the years, including Activision Blizzard's World of Warcraft, Overwatch has neglected the feature until the launch of Season 3 in Overwatch 2.Among the teases for Overwatch 2 Season 3 hinted at by Activision Blizzard is a video showing that there are parts of the Antarctic Peninsula map in which players can do a unique form of fishing. The Antarctic Peninsula is the second map being introduced to the Overwatch 2 lineup since the game launched, with the first one having an Escort mission on Shambali Monastery. Like the introduction of the Season 2 Escort map, Antarctic Peninsula may boost player numbers as some lapsed fans return to see the latest location in the rotation. The Overwatch Twitter account recently shared a clip of Soldier 76 on the Antarctic Peninsula map being introduced with the Season 3 update on February 7. With some text edited into the video saying "and if you'd rather be fishing,'" the Soldier 76 starts shooting a hole in the antarctic ice which causes a fish to leap out of it and begin flopping on the nearby ice before disappearing suddenly. Soldier 76 is able to shoot a few fish out of the ice hole, but things really get chaotic when the pre-release gameplay switches to Tracer, an Overwatch 2 hero with extreme rapid-fire to her guns.
