A hilarious mirror match between two Anas in Overwatch 2 resulted in both healers killing each other at the same time. These two players got into the spirit of the Mirrorwatch theme for Overwatch 2 Season 10 by perfectly copying one another’s moves for the entirety of this 1v1 duel.

Ana is one of the most unique healers in Overwatch 2. Sporting a sniper rifle that can heal allies and damage enemies with the same ammunition, she is a versatile character who is fun to play and challenging to master – so much so that Ana was the most popular hero in Overwatch 2 during its first year.

A recent showdown between two Anas showed not only how popular the hero is, but what happens when two evenly-matched players run into each other while playing the same Overwatch 2 character. Shared by Overwatch 2 fan JERRRA on Reddit, they and fellow Ana player Smarties encountered each other on the Rio map. Both Anas proceeded to sleep one another at the exact same time. The healers then woke up, threw their Biotic Grenades at the same time, and proceeded to land every shot against one another until both heroes died, with Smarties dropping only briefly before JERRRA.

Ana’s Abilities in Overwatch 2

  • Biotic Rifle: Sniper rifle that damages or heals the target over the course of.59 seconds.
  • Sleep Dart: Knocks the target unconscious for 5 seconds, or until they are damaged.
  • Biotic Grenade: Damages enemies in the blast radius and cuts off healing, while healing allies and increasing their healing received.
  • Nano Boost: Heal the target and increase their damage and damage reduction for 8 seconds.

While projectile travel time makes it so this can happen with any character, it is easier for it to occur with Ana than most other heroes. Ana’s Biotic Rifle ammunition has a DoT effect, meaning it deals its damage over time. This gives a greater window of time for the other Ana to hit with a shot of her own, even if they are hit with a lethal projectile. The fact her primary fire also cannot score headshots also helps, as all of her sources of damage are consistent regardless of where they hit.

Needless to say, Overwatch 2 fans who saw JERRRA’s clip got a kick out of it, collecting nearly 3000 upvotes and 100 comments at press time. While two Anas killing one another is not the rarest thing in the world, the fact they both did so with identical plays in a 1v1 – down to both players spamming voice lines while sleeping – was a testament to their mutual skill, and a tribute to the strange and hilarious unspoken rules of Overwatch 2.
