Four months ago, Overkill Software revealed Aidan, the first playable character in its upcoming The Walking Dead game. Now the studio has finally detailed the second playable character, Maya, with a stunning new cinematic trailer that offers an idea of what to expect from her in the game.
The new trailer for Overkill's The Walking Dead depicts a contrast between Maya at the start of the zombie apocalypse and where she's at now. At the start of the apocalypse, Maya was working as a nurse in a Washington, D.C. Hospital, only for it to become overrun by zombies. In the ensuing chaos, a doctor Maya worked with, and someone who was apparently her friend, was bitten by one of the undead. Maya was then forced to shoot her own friend in the head - a haunting event that helped shaped her into the angry survivor we see elsewhere in the trailer.

Considering Maya's medical background, it's reasonable to assume that her unique abilities will be focused on healing. How healing will work in The Walking Dead is unclear at this point, as Overkill has actually shared very little concrete details about the upcoming game, but we should learn more as we near closer to its fall 2018 release window.
Besides gameplay details, Overkill still has at least two more playable characters to unveil between now and the game's launch. Besides Aidan and Maya, we know the other two playable characters are a redheaded woman and an old man, so it will be interesting to see what unique skills they bring to the table.
Details on the other two playable characters in Overkill's The Walking Dead should come sooner rather than later. And while concrete details on Overkill's The Walking Dead are scarce at this point, what we do know about the game makes it seem like it has potential, so hopefully its first gameplay trailer helps build up the hype.
Overkill's The Walking Dead will be available in fall 2018 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
