Overcooked 2 has received a number of major updates since its initial launch in 2018, and the support isn't ending any time soon. Ghost Town Games has announced a brand new expansion for Overcooked 2 that will be available for Steam users on PC beginning July 5 and will be making its way to other platforms in mid-July.
The Overcooked 2: Sun's Out Buns Out DLC will include new chefs, free new levels, new recipes to cook, and more. It looks to be providing more of the same kind of Overcooked 2 gameplay that fans have come to know and love these past couple years, with a summertime-twist.
Something that's unclear at the time of this writing is the scale of the new Overcooked 2: Sun's Out Buns Out DLC. It's possible it will be a smaller-scale expansion in the vein of the Winter Wonderland update, but it could be a bit more substantial, like the Campfire Cook Off or Night of the Hangry Horde DLCs. Luckily, with the new DLC set to launch in July, fans of the cooperative cooking game won't have to wait all that much longer to find out for themselves.
Overcooked 2 earned strong reviews at the time of its release and has maintained its status as a top-tier local co-op game. With the next-generation of video game consoles on the horizon, it will be interesting to see if Ghost Town Games continues releasing new expansions for it, or if it decides to move forward with Overcooked 3 instead.
Overcooked 2 is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
