Gaming can be an expensive hobby. Putting aside hardware purchases, you are constantly bombarded by exciting new games that demand attention. They want your time, and they want your money. Sure, services like Game Pass and PS Plus provide access to hundreds of titles for a monthly fee, but you don't own any of them. No, sometimes, the only option is to drop some cash on a specific project. At least, in the case of open-world games, buyers tend to get their money's worth.

As long as someone can resist the urge to purchase a game immediately, they usually do not have to wait too long for a discount (Nintendo first-party games notwithstanding). At any given moment, there are dozens of open-world game deals, to the point that keeping track of all the discounts (and their stores) can be difficult. Monster Hunter Wilds, Judgment, Diablo 4, & More

Sony's PS Store is running a lot of deals at the moment, including an event in celebration of Gamescom. There are quite a few great open-world games that are on sale just until the end of August 18, with Assassin's Creed Shadows, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Hogwarts Legacy being just a few examples. However, you need to act fast to pick up these discounts.

If you end up missing out on those games, the PS Store has other sales that will last for the rest of the week. Days Gone Remastered is the Deal of the Week, so it is 25% off until early August 21. The divisive Monster Hunter Wilds is slightly discounted (and this is true for pretty much every version), while both Judgment games are on sale for attractive prices. Ark: Survival Ascended and Diablo 4 have also had their prices slashed.
