Dragon Ball transformations have only gotten stronger and stronger in Dragon Ball Super. With the introduction of God forms and personal transformations, the Z-Fighters and their enemies have reached a level of power no one would have thought possible by the end of Dragon Ball Z – and that's saying something considering just how overpowered the main cast and their enemies had gotten by the end of the Majin Buu Saga.

Fit the 9 games into the grid.

The most overpowered transformations in Dragon Ball Super aren't necessarily the strongest forms, so much as they raise their user's Power Levels to heights they frankly shouldn't be capable of. The Saiyans, Heeters, and Frieza are pulling off feats that would put even Super Saiyan Vegito in Dragon Ball Z's Fusion Saga to shame.

7 Super Saiyan Rage Future Trunks Made Him Strong Enough to Defeat Fused Zamasu

Super Saiyan Rage is one of the strongest power boosts in all of Dragon Ball. Just by training with Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta for a little bit in the Goku Black Saga, Future Trunks manages to absorb his father's residual God Ki, which he then taps into while fighting Fused Zamasu at the end of the arc. Unlocking Super Saiyan Rage allows Future Trunks to fight on even footing with Fused Zamasu, an enemy who was giving both SSB Goku and Vegeta trouble just moments ago.

By channeling the energy of his timeline's survivors in the same way Goku does with the Spirit Bomb, Super Saiyan Rage Future Trunks uses his Sword of Hope to cut Fused Zamasu in two. Unfortunately, Zamasu is immortal, so Trunks doesn't actually succeed in killing him despite the technical win. Understandably, the Dragon Ball Super manga does not include Super Saiyan Rage in order to keep Future Trunks' power-scaling more consistent within the confines of the story.

6 Super Saiyan Blue Evolved Vegeta Outclasses Goku's Version of SSB

Vegeta unlocked Super Saiyan Blue Evolved while fighting Toppo during the Tournament of Power. An advanced version of Super Saiyan Blue exclusive to Vegeta, even Beerus takes notice of how Vegeta's Power Level and aura have changed when he taps into SSBE for the first time. Super Saiyan Blue Evolved is so powerful, it makes Vegeta strong enough to defeat Toppo and still have enough energy to fight Jiren after.

The 7 Most Overpowered Dragon Ball Super Characters of All Time, Ranked

Dragon Ball Super's most powerful characters aren't just strong, they're downright overpowered.

3

This is particularly impressive since Toppo had essentially become a God of Destruction at this point, technically making Super Saiyan Blue Evolved Vegeta the only mortal in the series to beat a God of Destruction. In terms of power-scaling, Super Saiyan Blue Evolution Vegeta is roughly on par with Ultra Instinct Sign Goku. SSBE has since become Vegeta's main form, and Vegeta even used it instead of Ultra Ego to fight Gohan Beast in Dragon Ball Super Chapter 103's Saiyan battle royale.

5 Ultra Ego Vegeta Grows Stronger the More He Fights

Vegeta's Mastered Ultra Ego from Dragon Ball

Even though Super Saiyan Blue Evolution is a much more reliable form, there's something to be said for Ultra Ego's raw power. Ultra Ego Vegeta has yet to win a fight, but that's only because he hasn't had enough time to master the transformation's drawbacks. Unlike Ultra Instinct, Ultra Ego gets stronger the longer the user fights and the more damage they take. This is a perfect form for Vegeta, who's often getting throttled by his enemies.

Ultra Ego is implied to be stronger than Ultra Instinct as far as Power Levels go. Vegeta goes from getting destroyed by Granolah, to Ultra Ego helping him level the playing field. Unfortunately, Granolah's wish on the Dragon Balls to become the strongest in the universe, and Vegeta's raw power, helps him unlock the full extent of his powers. Once Vegeta masters Ultra Ego, he'll be even more of a beast in battle.

4 True Ultra Instinct Goku Can Stack Super Saiyan on Top of UI

Goku unlocked Ultra Instinct while fighting Jiren in the Tournament of Power, and his mastery of UI has improved with every single story arc since. In the Moro Saga, Merus teaches Goku how to clear his heart and mind in order to tap into Mastered Ultra Instinct whenever he wants. He even manages to master his Ki control while using the form, allowing him to astral project his energy into Kaiju-like apparitions. Goku takes Ultra Instinct even further in the Granolah Saga.

6 Strongest Dragon Ball Super Characters With the Most Potential, Ranked

There are several Dragon Ball characters who frankly don't need to train to keep up with Goku and Vegeta's feats.

While fighting Granolah and Gas, Goku taps into a new variation of Ultra Instinct called True Ultra Instinct. TUI visually resembles Ultra Instinct Sign, but can be triggered anytime. On top of that, True Ultra Instinct can be buffed by stacking Super Saiyan forms on top of it. True Ultra Instinct Goku is a best of both worlds situation where he can make use of his forms' God Ki multipliers, as well as Ultra Instinct's inherent power buffs. As of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, however, Goku is back to using Mastered Ultra Instinct as his main version of UI.

3 Awakened Gas Was Briefly the Strongest Character in Universe 7

Awakened Gas vs Granolah

The Heeters are some of the most powerful beings in Universe 7, and their empire is only rivaled by Frieza. Unlike other races which has unique transformers, the Heeters cannot control their full powers when their Inner Nature is unleashed and they become berserk. Due to this drawback, the Heeters use mind restraints as Power Limiters to keep them from going out of control. After Elec wishes for Gas to become the strongest being in the universe no matter what, Gas manages to control his Inner Nature in his Awakened form.

Awakened Gas has all the raw power of his berserk Inner Nature form, with near-complete control of his abilities and powers. Awakened Gas is so overwhelmingly powerful, that Ultra Instinct Goku, Ultra Ego Vegeta, and even Granolah don't stand a chance against him. Awakened Gas was far and away the most powerful character in Universe 7 when he debuted – until Black Frieza showed up and instantly killed him. Unfortunately for Gas, the wish Elec made on him also makes him older to draw out his full power, eventually causing him to crumble into dust just to keep up with Black Frieza.

2 Full Power Super Saiyan Broly Breaks All Power-Scaling Logic

dbs-broly-legendary-super-saiyan

Broly is the greatest Saiyan prodigy in Dragon Ball history. Born with a staggering Power Level of 10,000, Broly has only grown stronger over the years. Over 40 years later in Dragon Ball Super: Broly, Broly is so strong in his base form (with virtually zero training aside from surviving on Planet Vampa), he's powerful enough to fight Super Saiyan God Goku and Vegeta. After unlocking Super Saiyan, Broly goes from weaker than God Ki to stronger than Super Saiyan Blue – the strongest God Ki form for Saiyans.

Dragon Ball GT Turns 30: A Look Back at the Black Sheep of the Franchise

After three decades, Dragon Ball GT remains the most controversial entry in the franchise, but some fans are giving it a second chance.

Broly only becomes even stronger once he unlocks his version of Legendary Super Saiyan. Full Power Super Saiyan Broly is so overpowered, he's strong enough to fight on equal footing with Super Saiyan Gogeta. This is an incredible feat considering Gogeta is the strongest fusion in history. The only reason Broly loses is because Gogeta goes Super Saiyan Blue and overwhelms him. That said, Full Power Super Saiyan Broly grows stronger the longer he fights, so he could theoretically match SSB Gogeta with time.

1 Black Frieza is The Most OP Transformation in Dragon Ball History

There has never been a Dragon Ball transformation as extremely overpowered as Black Frieza. By training in a Hyperbolic Timem Chamber for ten years in another universe, Frieza goes from weaker than Jiren in the Tournament of Power, to far stronger than Ultra Instinct Goku and Ultra Ego Vegeta combined in the Granolah Saga.

Black Frieza is so strong, he immediately kills Gas – an enemy Goku, Vegeta, and Granolah were struggling to beat for chapters – and then defeats UI Goku and UE Vegeta with a hit they don't even have time to react to. As of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero's manga adaptation, Black Frieza is the strongest mortal in the multiverse and none of the Z-Fighters come close to matching his Power Level.
