Summary

  • Season 3 of One Punch Man features new villains Nyaan and Overgrown Pochi, posing a major threat.
  • J.C. Staff returns to produce the upcoming season with legacy scriptwriter Tomohiro Suzuki.
  • The new season follows Garou, a former Hero Association student, and explores hero/villain dynamics.

Set to hit screens in October, One Punch Man season 3 has revealed some brand-new visuals. This time, rather than show off the plethora of heroes, we get a glimpse at the upcoming season's villains in the form of two "Mysterious Beings"; entities that pose a major threat to society. Nyaan and Overgrown Pochi are two sadistic-looking beasties that will surely make the upcoming third season of One Punch Man a proper slugfest.

The two character visuals were created by Ryōsuke Shirakawa (key animation, A Silent Voice) and Shinjiro Kuroda (key animation, SPY×FAMILY Code: White), character designers of One Punch Man season 3, alongside Chikashi Kubota (chief animation director, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero).

One Punch Man Maji Music Fest Visual Cropped

J.C. Staff, the studio behind the second season, returns to produce One Punch Man season 3, with series composition by legacy scriptwriter Tomohiro Suzuki; character designs by the aforementioned trio of Chikashi Kubota, Ryōsuke Shirakawa and Shinjiro Kuroda and music composed by Makoto Miyazaki (music, Spy x Family). The cast of One Punch Man season 3 includes:

  • Makoto Furukawa as Saitama

In addition to the new creature visuals, the series also revealed a new visual for the One-Punch Man Maji Music Festival, which is set for September 14 and planned in anticipation of the anime's 10th anniversary. The event will feature live dubbing as well as live performances of the series' theme songs and soundtrack. The third season of One-Punch Man follows the aftermath of monsters claiming to be from the Hero Association taking the child of a high-ranking association executive hostage, while Garou, described as a "human monster" and a self-proclaimed "Hero Hunter", awakens in the "Monster Association" hideout.

We soon learn that Garou is a former student of Bang, who expelled him from his dōjo after Garou went on a rampage. The character is introduced as a foil to Saitama, as both characters grew up appreciating and admiring opposite ends of the hero/villain spectrum, not to mention the fact that Garou has actual martial arts training compared to Saitama's "consecutive normal punches" and other "punch fu".

One Punch Man season 3 is set to broadcast in October.
