Fans don't know what exactly the D people are, where they come from, and what exactly happened to them in the past. The Roger Pirates only figured out the truth about the D clan upon reaching the Final Island, Laugh Tale, but Oda has dropped many hints about their true identity, including the location of where they might currently be.

The D Clan And The Kingdom Of Gods In One Piece

  • The D Clan Was Prominent During The Void Century
  • The Kingdom Of Gods Was On Marijoa

The D clan existed long ago in the One Piece world and fans know that they faced persecution at the hands of the Founding 20, which eventually went on to create the World Government. In the years following the creation of the World Government, the D clan was exterminated, to the point where the survivors started hiding their true names to avoid the gaze of those at the top. Yet, 900 years ago in the One Piece world, the D clan was most definitely flourishing and fans know that they were also likely linked to the Ancient Kingdom.

Long ago, there existed a kingdom of gods atop the Red Line. — Whitebeard to Marco

900 years ago, the world of One Piece was also very different. As was confirmed by Vegapunk himself, the world was not under the ocean, and huge land masses existed. The destruction of the world from long ago caused the ocean to rise by 200 meters, sinking whole countries under the surface of the ocean. Yet, there exists the Red Line that stays strong. The Red Line might actually be the key to solving the history of the D clan in One Piece. After all, it is one place that houses life, no matter what. When the world was destroyed 800 years ago, the Red Line stood tall. Similarly, the Lunarians once lived atop the Red Line too, and fans know that they chose this location for a reason. It is the Kingdom of Gods where the Lunarians lived that was later turned into Marijoa by the World Government.

Why There Could Be A Kingdom Inside The Red Line

The Red Line Might Be Artificial in some Places

The Red Line is a massive construct that circles the whole world, and it hides many mysteries. One such mystery arises when one considers the location of Fishman Island. There is a very convenient hole under the Red Line, where Fishman Island exists. At the same time, the roots of the Sunlight Tree Eve come out from this hole and give light and air to the people of Fishman Island.

So you could say that the Sunlight Tree Eve is like the boss of the Yarukiman Mangrove! — Usopp to King Neptune

These roots go directly into the Red Line above and the tree itself is likely above it. If the tree gives light to Fishman Island, it clearly means it also gives light to areas above it, which means that as the tree passes through the Red Line, there are parts of it that are illuminated. If the hole under the Red Line is artificial, then perhaps, there might even be a cavity within the Red Line where this tree gives light and air to those living there.

Laboon and The Mystery Of The Red Line

Laboon in One Piece

Naturally, the idea of the Red Line housing people inside it seems strange, but one simply needs to look at Laboon to add more credence to the idea. Laboon keeps on bashing her head against the wall. At first, it was stated that this was because of the Rumbar Pirates, but in the New World, all the whales had similar scars, meaning they were hitting the wall from the other side. According to Oda, the whales have a sonar that allows them to sense obstacles and prey. Yet, they don't perceive the Red Line as an obstacle. This could be because the Red Line is artificial around this part, and actually can be phased through from the inside.

In the Egghead arc, Oda showed the fans how some doors can be phased through from one side, but completely solid from the other. Perhaps, this was a clue from Oda about how the Red Line works.

Most importantly, Doflamingo, who seems to be very well aware of the history of the world has also indicated that the D clan is alive and well, and that the Celestial Dragons will be pulled down soon. Here's what he said:

The D Clan are smoldering at the bottom of history. Where and when will they reveal themselves? Tell the Celestial Dragons of Marijoa, they'll be dragged down. — Doflamingo

The D Clan Might Be Alive Still

If there truly is a Kingdom that exists inside the Red Line and is powered by the Sunlight Tree Eve, then perhaps the ones that live there are the people of the D, who according to Doflamingo, will show themselves soon. This could also explain how the Iron Giant attacked Marijoa 200 years ago. If the Iron Giant was stored inside the Red Line, it would make sense as to how it spawned out of absolutely nowhere and attacked Marijoa.
