Roger, and the second was Kozuki Oden, the legendary samurai from Wano. After them came Silvers Rayleigh, who served as the right-hand man of Gol D. Roger. Over the years, there have been numerous debates about the strength of all the crew members, including Rayleigh.

Silvers Rayleigh's Feats Are Rather Impressive

He Has Accomplished A Lot In His Life

Rayleigh has not had the chance to show his full strength, but he has quite a few notable feats to his name. The first of them is being able to stop Kizaru in his tracks. The Admiral even suggested that he'd need backup to capture Rayleigh alive. It's also worth mentioning that Rayleigh was able to make a cut on Kizaru's face, indicating that he had bypassed the Admiral's Devil Fruit ability.

Another instance that shows that Rayleigh is not an ordinary pirate is how Blackbeard left Amazon Lily with his tail tucked between his legs. Prior to Rayleigh's appearance, Blackbeard was ready to exterminate Boa Hancock and everyone else on the island. While it is definitely an extraordinary feat, it would be remiss not to mention that Rayleigh admitted that he couldn't have beaten Blackbeard in a 1v1. This is understandable considering Rayleigh was way past his prime.

Rayleigh Has Access To All Types Of Haki

Silvers Rayleigh is one of the few characters who has access to all three Haki types, and he is proficient at using them. Rayleigh has mastered the application of Armament Haki. He can emit it from a distance and take out his opponents without touching them. Additionally, Rayleigh can use Armament Haki to destroy the body of a person from within. Rayleigh's Armament Haki was strong enough to bypass Kizaru's intangibility.

When it comes to Observation Haki, Rayleigh has excellent control over it. He can use it to somehow discern the power levels of individuals. Rayleigh can also sense the presence of others with Observation Haki. While he does know about Future Sight, it is unclear whether he can actually use it.

Silvers Rayleigh is also skilled at using Conqueror's Haki. In an SBS, Oda stated that Rayleigh would have knocked out all 100,000 Fish-Men, meaning that his control was superior to Luffy's. Additionally, he is one of the few people who are capable of using Conqueror's Haki infusion. He can utilize it to bolster the power behind his attacks. Naturally, in his prime, Rayleigh's Haki and physical strength would be much higher.

Was Prime Rayleigh Stronger Than The Yonko?

In his heyday, Rayleigh was easily above the likes of Yonko Commander and a Marine Admiral. One could even make the case that he had reached the same level as the Yonko. However, there is not enough evidence that proves Rayleigh could have beaten any of the Yonko. Almost all the Yonko in One Piece have better feats, excluding Buggy. They are all monsters who possess insanely overpowered Devil Fruits and Haki. Some examples of the Yonko's insane strength are:

Ryokugyu ran away after Shanks used his Haki
Whitebeard thrashed Admiral Akainu
Luffy beat Kizaru in Egghead with no real problems

Another flashback from Oda could shed more light on Rayleigh's strength, and it would help fans to form a better opinion. However, it is safe to say that if Rayleigh were as strong as the Yonko, then he could have given all of them a run for their money. Additionally, this would mean that Scopper Gaban was also on the same level. Since the two are more or less equal. Whether Rayleigh could have beaten the Yonko, there is no denying that the Dark King is one of the most powerful characters in One Piece.
