  • X-Drake, another Rear Admiral, went undercover and joined Kaido's crew.

The Marines are one of the biggest and strongest organizations in One Piece. It was created with the sole intention of serving and protecting the World Government from any threats. Through the years, many characters have joined the Marines in hopes of carrying out justice.

To maintain order within the organization, there is a hierarchy that separates different individuals. Rear Admiral is the fourth-highest position in the Marines. They are at the bottom of the Admiral ranks, but they still have a decent amount of authority over the other soldiers. One Piece fans have watched many Rear Admirals in action, but not all of them have managed to catch the eye.

6 Hina

rear admiral hina one piece

At the time of her debut, Hina was only a Marine captain. Toward the end of the Alabasta arc, she made an effort to capture the Straw Hats, but was tricked by Bon Clay. Hina was a participant in the Summit War, where she tried to capture Luffy, only to be met with failure. After the war came to an end, Hina was promoted to the position of Rear Admiral.

Hina is good at hand-to-hand combat, as evidenced by her victories over Bon Clay on two separate occasions. But her main source of power is the Ori Ori no Mi. It is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows her to create iron bars. She primarily uses the Ori Ori no Mi to capture her opponents. The bars that extend from her body allow her to trap multiple foes at the same time. However, the Devil Fruit has a massive drawback, as it can even affect allies.

5 Kujaku

Kujaku is the granddaughter of Tsuru, a legendary Marine. She is a member of SWORD, which means that she is different from the usual Marines. Kujaku was stationed at G-14 Naval Base before she joined Garp in his quest to rescue Koby from the clutches of the Blackbeard Pirates.

Kujaku is brave and doesn't hesitate to throw herself into the face of danger. She possesses the Muchi Muchi no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows her to turn different objects into whips. If Kujaku hits anyone with the whip, they are forced to obey her commands. Her powers are not limited to living beings; in fact, she can command inanimate objects as well.

4 Prince Grus

Prince Grus of SWORD

Prince Grus is a Navy Rear Admiral who is also a member of SWORD. He made his first appearance in a cover story, but he wasn't properly introduced until the Egghead Island arc. Being a member of SWORD, Grus is not obligated to obey orders from his superiors. However, this freedom comes at a price, as the Navy does not have to help him if his life is in danger.

Prince Grus is calm and collected most of the time, but he is not beyond feeling jealous of his fellow officers. Grus possesses the Gunyo Gunyo no Mi. It is currently unknown what class the Devil Fruit falls into, but judging from his attacks, it could be a Logia-type. The Gunyo Gunyo no Mi allows Grus to create and manipulate clay. He can make golems to fight and massive nets out of clay to protect himself from attacks.

3 Strawberry

Strawberry is currently a Vice Admiral, but many years prior to the story, he used to be a Rear Admiral. At that time, the Sun Pirates were extremely famous. During one of their attacks, Strawberry was seen talking to Kizaru about the pirates. After Fisher Tiger was gravely injured, Strawberry fought against Jimbei but ended up losing the fight. However, it is still a great accomplishment considering how superior Fish-Men are to regular humans.

He does not seem to be an ardent believer in Absolute Justice. Strawberry cares about the well-being of people and tries to avoid any sort of collateral damage. Strawberry can presumably use at least two types of Haki. He carries two blades, so it is fair to assume that he is skilled at using them.

2 T-Bone

T-Bone was one of the most lovable Marines in One Piece. He was a compassionate person with a strong dislike for violence. He made his debut in the Water 7 arc, and it became quite clear that he was not an evil person. T-Bone was only a Marine captain at that point, but he was able to put up a decent fight against Roronoa Zoro. The pirate admitted that T-Bone was a strong opponent.

After the timeskip, T-Bone was promoted to the position of Rear Admiral. He wielded a sword called Bamboo, with which he could easily slice through ships and Sea Kings.

1 X-Drake

x Drake strongest rear admiral one piece

X-Drake is the strongest Rear Admiral in One Piece. In order to go undercover, X-Drake pretended that he had left the Marines. He started his own crew and managed to earn a respectable bounty of 222,000,000 berries. Due to this reason, he was named among the Worst Generation. Sometime during the timeskip, X-Drake joined Kaido's crew and became one of the Tobi Roppo.

X-Drake is a powerful individual, and he is adept at using Busoshoku and Kenbunshoku Haki. He possesses the Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Allosaurus, which is an Ancient Zoan-type Devil Fruit. It grants him the ability to turn into a ferocious prehistoric carnivore. It also bolsters X-Drake's physical abilities significantly. In the Wano Country arc, he was able to fight against the likes of Apoo and Guernica.
