These old One Piece characters become stronger and wiser with age. They also have valuable experience that gives them the edge in fights. With that in mind, here are the most powerful old characters in One Piece.

7 Monkey D. Garp

Age: 78 Years

Monkey D. Garp is one of the most loved One Piece characters. Garp joined the Marines many years prior to the current timeline, and he has served them loyally. In fact, it wouldn't be an exaggeration to call him the greatest Marine of all time.

In his prime, Garp fought against the likes of Gol D. Roger, Shiki, and Rocks D. Xebec. He was the only Marine who cornered Roger and came close to killing him. Garp does not have any Devil Fruit, but his Haki is on a completely different level from most characters. Even in his old age, Garp was able to destroy an entire town with a single punch. Moreover, he dominated Kuzan in the fight, despite being outnumbered.

6 Sengoku

Age: 79 Years

Sengoku is the former Fleet Admiral of the Marines. He likely assumed the position after Kong was promoted to commander-in-chief. Sengoku is a clever individual, capable of concocting elaborate plans to outsmart his opponents. It was due to his decisions that the Marines were able to inflict so much damage on the Whitebeard Pirates.

Sengoku was the first Marine who was confirmed as a user of all three types of Haki. In addition to his Haki, Sengoku also possesses the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Daibutsu, which allows him to transform into a golden Buddha. In his morphed state, Sengoku takes on the form of a giant golden Buddha capable of emitting shockwaves from the palm of his hands. Despite stepping down from his position, Sengoku remains a powerful combatant.

5 San Juan Wolf

Age: 99 Years

San Juan Wolf was imprisoned on level 6 of Impel Down. The giant would have remained in the facility if it hadn't been for Blackbeard. Not much is known about San Juan Wolf except for the fact that he is considered one of the worst criminals in history.

At some point in the past, San Juan Wolf ate the Deka Deka no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows him to increase the size of his body. It is unclear if there is a limit to how big he can get, but it should be cleared up in the future. So far, San Juan Wolf has increased his size so much that he can stand on the sea floor.

4 Five Elders

Age: Over 100 Years

The Five Elders are second only to Imu in terms of authority. Each of them is fiercely loyal to Imu, and they carry out the latter's orders without fail. For most of the series, it was unclear whether the Five Elders had any combat prowess or they were just bureaucrats.

In the Egghead arc, it was revealed that they are all elite fighters capable of taking on someone with Luffy's strength. All Five Elders have a Yokai form that greatly bolsters their strength and grants them special abilities. They also have insanely quick regeneration, making it almost impossible to kill them. So far, three of them have also demonstrated the ability to use Conqueror's Haki. While their ages remain unknown, the evidence points to them having been alive for more than a century.

3 Morley

Age: 160 Years

Morley is the commander of the Western forces of the Revolutionary Army. Before joining the organization, Morley was imprisoned inside Impel Down, but she managed to escape with the help of her Oshi Oshi no Mi. Morley did it before Shiki, but the information was never publicized.

As a giant, Morley has immense physical power with which she can take down her enemies with ease. Morley's Devil Fruit allows her to reshape the ground freely, and she can use it to block incoming attacks and throw her opponent off balance. Morley also participated in the Revolutionary Army's attack on Marijoa, and she played a key role in the mission's success.

2 Dorry Brogy

Age: 160 Years

Dorry and Brogy were the captains of the Giant Warrior Pirates. Unfortunately, they left their position over a dispute. It wasn't until years later that they came to an understanding and returned to Elbaf.

As giants, Dorry and Brogy are stronger than most individuals in One Piece. They have enormous physical strength with which they can easily fight monsters. Dorry and Brogy also have a powerful combination attack known as Hakoku Sovereignty, which they used to destroy Victoria Punk

1 Zunesha

Age: Over 1000 Years

With an age of over 1000 years, Zunesha is the oldest known character in One Piece. In the distant past, it was on good terms with Joy Boy, and it is possible that this relationship made it a target of the World Government. It has been stated that Zunesha is subjected to the punishment of wandering because of a transgression that they committed in the past. While the exact details have been kept under wraps, Zunesha's punishment is closely linked to his affiliation with Joy Boy.

Zunesha does not have a Devil Fruit, but with its size, there is no need for any special powers. Just a swing of its trunk is enough to destroy entire fleets. Zunesha decimated Jack's ship and sent him to the depths of the sea.
