Humans are one of the most common and weakest races in One Piece. Nonetheless, some tend to possess large amounts of potential, with well-trained and refined humans remaining fairly powerful forces in their own right. However, there are some humans who have historically procreated with other races, which allows their descendants a bit more natural strength than they may otherwise have.

While it is unclear if these hybrids surpass or are naturally inferior to their full-blooded counterparts, strength-wise, there are some who are nonetheless fairly capable as combatants, carving out niches as some of the strongest characters within the greater series.

One Piece: Goals of Every Emperor Past and Present

Finding the One Piece is far from the only dream held by these powerful pirates. Here's what the goals of every Emperor were/are.

5 Dellinger

Fish-Man/Human Hybrid

Dellinger, a human/fish-man hybrid whose hat is specially modified with his horns in mind.
  • Affiliation: Donquixote Pirates; Diamante Army
  • Parentage: Unclear, mixture of human/fish-man ancestry
  • Devil Fruit: None

Dellinger is a high-ranking member of the Donquixote Pirates, effectively inducted into the "family", which consists of its most elite members. He is a human who is also part-fighting fish fish-man. The already somewhat murky nature of fish-man heritage is further complicated by Dellinger having no known parents. He was discovered as an orphan by the crew and raised by Giolla, a fellow family member, who was responsible for his upbringing. This notably influenced aspects of Dellinger's style, such as his high heels, which he wore in combat and weaponized.

Even as a child, he was a full-fledged member of the crew, having been only a few years old once they succeeded in taking over Dressrosa. Into adulthood, Dellinger remains a tough foe to face. His relatively benign human teeth disguise a sharp set of fighting fish teeth, which aid him in his aggressive maneuvers. Like Arlong, he seems to be able to regrow and dispose of his teeth at will, though the exact extent to which he is capable of this remains unclear. He managed to knock out several Corrida Colosseum participants with fairly little effort, including the likes of Ideo, Blue Gilly, and Sulieman. This puts him a cut above even some members of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet. Nonetheless, Hakuba, Cavendish's evil alter-ego, managed to defeat him with a single strike.

4 Charlotte Amande

Snakeneck/Human Hybrid

Charlotte Amande, a pale-skinned snakeneck/human hybrid with a long neck
  • Affiliation: Big Mom Pirates
  • Parentage: Unidentified Snakeneck (Father), Charlotte Linlin (Human Mother)
  • Devil Fruit: None

Amande is descended from the Snakeneck Tribe, a race which remains unseen outside of Totto Land. She is an officer of the Big Mom Pirates. All known members of the group thus far are human hybrids, and children of Linlin. Amande notably has three sisters who are fully related to her, as well as three snakeneck half-siblings among many others from a variety of races.

One Piece: Every Species In The Big Mom Pirates

Big Mom's crewmates come in all shapes and sizes. Her goal of including every race in her paradise has given her quite the diverse crew.

Although her rank of officer is quite common among the Charlotte siblings, Amande is singled out as one of the stronger siblings by the members of the Vinsmoke Family. She is shown to have massacred a number of knights for the sake of gathering eggs. Her limited screen time establishes her to be skilled with her sword of choice, a Meito (a famous or "great" sword) known as Shirauo.

3 Charlotte Smoothie

Longleg/Human Hybrid

Charlotte Smoothie one piece anime
Charlotte Smoothie one piece anime
  • Affiliation: Big Mom Pirates; Three Sweet Commanders
  • Parentage: Unidentified Longleg (Father), Charlotte Linlin (Human Mother)
  • Devil Fruit: Shibo Shibo no Mi

Smoothie is descended from the Longleg Tribe and is a daughter of Linlin, and consequently, a member of the Big Mom Pirates.

The race is known for their long and strong legs, which they tend to enjoy displaying and decorating. In addition to her two sisters, Citron and Cinnamon, Smoothie also shares this distinction with Tamago, a combatant of the crew, assumed to be a pure longleg and not related to the Charlotte family.

Smoothie is not shown using her legs in combat, instead preferring to make use of her Shibo Shibo no Mi, which allows her to drain and absorb juice from other living beings. She carries a large unnamed sword which she stores juice inside, to utilize as a projectile when the need arises. She is also capable of using two types of haki. Aside from her displayed skill, Smoothie is further distinguished as one of the Three Sweet Commanders, the three most powerful pirates in the crew apart from its captain. She shares this distinction with Charlotte Katakuri, a pirate who could go head-to-head with Luffy.

2 Most of the Seraphim

Lunarian/Human Hybrids

Featured One Piece Anime Reveals Three More Seraphim
  • Affiliation: Formerly Vegapunk, Currently World Government
  • Parentage: King (Genetic Ancestor), Ex-Warlords (Templates), Vegapunk (Creator)
  • Devil Fruit: None. Green Blood allows each to have a Paramecia power

These cyborgs are a new variant of Pacifista created by Vegapunk. They resemble the Seven Warlords of the Sea in their youth. The primary difference is that each has lunarian genes, courtesy of the Beasts Pirates' King, taken from his time as a test subject in Punk Hazard. Seeing as the majority of Warlords were, in fact, human, the majority of these Pacifistas can be classified as human hybrids. The named human hybrids are S-Snake and S-Hawk, who are based off Boa Hancock and Dracule Mihawk respectively.

One Piece: Every Species In the Beasts Pirates

This animal themed pirate crew has a number of different species involved.

S-Bear also technically counts, but he also has Buccaneer ancestry, due to being cloned from Kuma. S-Shark, Jimbei's counterpart, is the only non-human hybrid of the bunch. There are also three counterparts to Crocodile, Gecko Moria, and Donquixote Doflamingo, who are currently active. Judging by established naming conventions, they are likely called S-Crocodile, S-Gecko, and S-Flamingo.

Seraphim were considered by Marine Admiral Issho to be capable enough to replace the Warlords, and effectively restore the balance of power that was lost with their abolition. This was partially proven when they were able to combat the likes of Blackbeard and the Straw Hat Pirates, both of whom are identified among the most major threats to the World Government at present. As partially biological beings, they are capable of aging and possibly growing even stronger than they are now.

1 Bartholomew Kuma

Buccaneer/Human Hybrid

Bartholomew Kuma from One Piece
  • Affiliation: Revolutionary Army (Formerly), Seven Warlords of the Sea (Formerly)
  • Parentage: Clapp (Buccaneer Father), Unnamed Human Mother
  • Devil Fruit: Nikyu Nikyu no Mi

Bartholomew Kuma was once a kindhearted soul who used his strength to protect those he cared for. His own tragic childhood as a slave, hunted down due to being part of the deeply persecuted buccaneer race, instilled in him a drive to care for others who could not defend themselves. He acted at times as a priest, a revolutionary, and a king, but always remained his kind self in each event. He notably served as the surrogate father of Bonney, having been the lover of her mother, Ginny, who conceived her in captivity as a World Noble's slave. He wished to protect Bonney, even at great personal cost to himself.

As such, he was converted into a Pacifista, programming a mission to protect the Thousand Sunny, before becoming a non-autonomous unit. During this time, Kuma is shown to make short work of the Straw Hats, and remains a physically imposing fighter. A fact compounded by his Nikyu Nikyu no Mi, which allows to dish out bursts of air, and transfer physical pain to and from individuals. After the disbanding of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, Kuma was once again enslaved by World Nobles, who took advantage of his resistance to pain. After being rescued by Sabo and four revolutionary officers, Kuma was in a vegetative state. However, he managed to "switch off" and regain some semblance of autonomy, which Vegapunk chalked up to his buccaneer heritage. He was last seen reuniting with Bonney, after her and Luffy battled against Saturn.

The exact nature of buccaneers as a race is unclear. They are of giant descent, despite the few seen not being as tall as certain "giant" humans, such as Big Mom, who has purely human heritage (as far as we know.) Kuma's father, Clapp's own parentage, is unknown. This makes it unclear how much giant ancestry either has. Nonetheless, they were both identified as buccaneers. The race was said to have committed a "grave sin", though what this was has yet to be revealed.
