One Piece: Kaido's Best Haki Feats
Kaido has some incredible feats in One Piece when it comes to Haki usage.
With a bounty of 4.0489 billion berries, Shanks is an unstoppable force who has crushed enemies that have dared to cross his path. Shanks is a master of Haki and he has used this ability to defeat his enemies on many occasions, with some of them being incredibly noteworthy.
5 Mountain Bandits
Defeated By Shanks In Foosha Village
The very first fight that fans saw of Shanks came against the mountain bandits in the Romance Dawn arc. In this arc, fans got their first taste of his personality. Shanks appeared to be a hearty fellow who laughed off any insults thrown at him, however, when his friends were threatened, he turned into an absolute monster and obliterated his enemies.
When Luffy's life was threatened by the mountain bandits, Shanks did not think twice before engaging in combat with them. The entire pirate crew decided to fight and crushed the mountain bandits as if they were nothing.
4 Coastal King
Defeated By Shanks In the Sea Outside Foosha Village
One can say that Shanks' first major battle in One Piece came against the Coastal King that ruled over the seas surrounding Foosha Village. The Coastal King was the giant sea beast that ended up consuming Shanks' very own arm.
When Higuruma kidnapped Luffy and tried to escape from the island, the Coastal King surrounded the ship and consumed him whole. From there onwards, Luffy, who was drowning, was to be eaten next, however, Shanks made it in the nick of time and saved him, sacrificing his arm in the process. With Luffy having been saved, the Coastal King decided to go for another attack, however, Shanks used the power of Conqueror's Haki to strike fear into the beast, intimidating and, therefore, defeating him in the process. While this fight did not see Shanks utilize any strong attacks, it was one that he certainly won with a memorable display of his abilities.
3 Killer
Defeated By Shanks Near Elbaf
Shanks fought against many powerful pirates in the New World over the years and one that he crushed with minimal effort was Killer, the right-hand man of Eustass Kid. In the final saga of One Piece, where the Kid Pirates entered Shanks's territory, the red-haired Yonko was seen launching all his fury towards them and, in doing so, he launched such a powerful strike that Killer was completely knocked out. This attack wasn't even aimed at him.
His mask was completely crushed and he was unconscious. Once Shanks crushed him, Dory and Brogy hit a powerful attack towards Victoria Punk which tore it in half and sent Killer, along with all the other members of the Kid Pirates, drowning to the bottom of the ocean.
2 Eustass Kid
Defeated By Shanks Near Elbaf
One of the strongest characters that Shanks has defeated in the New World is none other than Eustass Kid. Kid received a 3 billion berry bounty after the events of the Wano war and he believed himself to be capable enough to take on Shanks. Kid was warned by Killer that the next time he met the emperor crew, he would lose more than just an arm, however, Kid backed himself to crush Shanks and emerge victorious.
Unfortunately for him, Shanks turned out to be too powerful, and, in a single strike of his Haki, using the technique called Divine Departure, Shanks absolutely destroyed Kid. In fact, this strike was so powerful that Killer, who was standing in his vicinity, was also crushed by it. Kid was knocked out using just a single attack, as was Killer. Shanks then stole the Poneglyphs of the pirate crew and the rest was done by Dorry and Brogy. The pirate crew was sent to the bottom of the ocean and their fate remains unknown ever since.
1 Tot Musica
Defeated By Shanks In Film Red
While Kid is the strongest character that Shanks has fought in the canon of One Piece, in the movies, Shanks ended up in combat against an even stronger enemy, called Tot Musica. This beast of a villain required Shanks to utilize some very powerful attacks. In fact, Shanks had to synchronize with Luffy from the dream world and launch a strike at the same time. Only then could Tot Musica be defeated.
When Shanks launched the powerful Haki-infused blow, Tot Musica was ultimately defeated. While this villain is, undoubtedly, non-canon, it is one that Shanks defeated quite impressively. For that reason, it does no harm to include it in the list of the enemies that Shanks crushed over the years. It is also interesting to know that Uta, one of the protagonists of Film Red, is a canon character and her story is tied to Tot Musica. This means that Shanks could potentially have defeated Tot Musica in the canon as well on the island of Eligia the first time it first showcased its power, before Uta was left on the island.
