This article contains spoilers from One Piece's Elbaf Arc.
Roronoa Zoro is the swordsman of the Straw Hat Pirates and fans know him to be one of the most important characters in One Piece. Zoro is the first person to join Luffy on his journey to become the Pirate King, and fans know very well how indispensable he's been to the crew ever since. Zoro is often considered to be the Number 2 of the crew, and along with Sanji, he's one of Luffy's two most capable underlings. Zoro and Sanji are known to be the Wings of the Pirate King, and it goes without saying that to Oda, they will always be a tad more special than some other Straw Hats.
One Piece: Joy Boy's Real Successor Has Already Been Revealed, And It Isn't Luffy
Joy Boy has a blood descendant in One Piece, but it isn't Luffy.
While Zoro and Sanji will always maintain their positions as the Wings of the Pirate King, the power dynamics in the crew might just be about to change forever. In Elbaf, Oda has officially introduced the fans to a potential Straw Hat, and it is none other than Loki. Loki is a prime contender for being a member of the Straw Hat Pirates, and if that were to happen, things won't look too good for Zoro. In One Piece, if Loki were to join the Straw Hat Pirates, Zoro would officially go on to be dethroned as the Number 2 of the crew, which could be saddening for many fans of the story.
Loki Could Dethrone Zoro As The Straw Hat Pirates' Number 2
Loki Is Worth 2 Billion Berries
- Luffy wants Loki to join the crew
- Loki is stronger than Zoro
Nobody can take the place of Zoro and Sanji as the Wings of the Pirate King, and that goes without saying. Oda will forever maintain this dynamic, but when it comes to strength, there is a chance that a stronger character will join the Straw Hat Pirates, and soon. Oda has officially set up Loki joining the Straw Hat Pirates and it could very well happen in the Elbaf arc of the story. Right now, Loki isn't a part of the Straw Hat Pirates and he's clearly told Luffy that he doesn't want to join. That said, fans know very well that Luffy wants him in the crew at all costs, and at the same time, that Luffy is extremely insistent on it.
Hey, Loki! Come on man! Join my crew. That way they'll be forced to free you. — Luffy to Loki
Right now, Luffy and Loki don't see eye to eye, but they're soon going to fight against Imu together. Fans know very well that Imu is incredibly powerful, and more than that, Luffy and Loki will have to team up in the battle. When they do end up fighting together, Loki will come to respect Luffy as the Sun God, and perhaps, he might change his mind and finally join the Straw Hat Pirates.
September 29 Will Be A Big Day For One Piece Fans
After long manga breaks, the One Piece manga is finally returning, and soon.
If Loki joins the crew, Zoro will officially be replaced as the second most powerful. This is clear from the fact that Loki is said to be strong enough to be able to destroy Elbaf, and the whole world. He is said to hold the power of a legendary Devil Fruit, and on top of that, his Haki is excellent as well. He has a special bounty of 2.6 billion berries, and strong as Zoro is, he isn't on Loki's level.
In order to beat him, I have to surpass all expectations. I can't allow myself to be ordinary. — Roronoa Zoro
If Loki Joins, Zoro Will Officially Be The Third Strongest With Sanji
Zoro And Sanji Are Equal
If Loki were to join the crew, fans would see Zoro become the third strongest in the crew, along with Sanji. Given that Oda has repeatedly established the fact that Zoro and Sanji are equal, these two will jointly hold the third spot, for the time being. In the grand scheme of things, fans should expect both Zoro and Sanji to surpass Loki, and reach the same level as Luffy. Just as Roger, Rayleigh, and Gaban were on the same level, Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji will all be in the same tier of strength as well.
