This post contains spoilers for One Piece.

As a shonen manga, One Piece puts a lot of focus on combat, which is why there are a ton of strong fighters in the series. Eiichiro Oda used his creativity to come up with different fighting styles to make things more exciting.

Some One Piece characters use their Devil Fruits, while others rely on their Haki. There is a decent number of fighters who use both Haki and Devil Fruit in combat. Oda has also put in individuals who utilize powerful weapons like swords, rifles, guns, etc. Those who use rifles, guns, and slingshots are called snipers, and almost every major pirate crew has at least one of them.

Yasopp Is The Strongest Sniper In One Piece

Yasopp Is A Top Officer Of The Red Hair Pirates

Yasopp strongest sniper one piece
  • Yasopp is the best sniper in One Piece
  • He has incredible sniping skills

Out of the many snipers in One Piece, Yasopp is the one who stands at the top. In his younger days, Yasopp was approached by Shanks, who wanted the former to join his crew. Shanks had heard about Yasopp and his skill, which is why he personally sought out the sniper. Luffy witnessed Yasopp's skill when he was still in Fooshia Village, and it's safe to say that the young'un was extremely impressed by what he saw.

Yasopp's sniping skill is so refined that he is capable of shooting the antennae of an ant from 100 yards without harming the creature itself. Such a feat takes years of practice, and only then can a person even dream of being so accurate. Unfortunately, Yasopp hasn't had the opportunity to show off his skills in the story yet, but as one of the top officers of the Red Hair Pirates, he is bound to be strong. As the story progresses, Yasopp is bound to get more involved, and when the time finally comes, fans will witness his full power.

As the son of Yasopp, there is a lot of pressure on Usopp to get close to his father's level. Sadly, Usopp's growth has stalled since the Dressrosa arc, and it remains the last time that he made a valuable contribution with his sniping skills. In the arc, Usopp awakened his Observation Haki and used it to beat Sugar. Since then, he hasn't improved his strength at all. However, fans are hopeful that Usopp will grow stronger in the Final Saga, as he is likely to fight Van Augur, who is arguably the second-strongest sniper in One Piece.

Yasopp And The Red Hair Pirates Will Fight The Blackbeard Pirates In The Final Saga

Van Augur Will Be Yasopp's Opponent

Van Augur op episode 1142 release date

The biggest threat to Yasopp is Van Augur, who is the sniper of the Blackbeard Pirates, and he has one of the greatest sniping feats in One Piece history. Van Augur was able to shoot down seagulls from a far-away island with immense accuracy. He was also able to sense that one of the birds took longer to die. Van Augur also possesses the Wapu Wapu no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows him to instantly warp to another place. It may seem that Van Augur and Yasopp don't have a reason to fight each other, but that's not true.

Shanks has been actively looking for Blackbeard, as he likely wants to stop him from claiming the One Piece. When the two crews finally come face-to-face, Yasopp will have no other option but to fight Van Augur. It's likely that Yasopp will lose the fight and surrender his title to Van Augur, and then it will be Usopp's responsibility to bring him down.

Shanks Film Red One Piece

Shanks' defeat by Blackbeard will put the latter in front of the chasing pack. Blackbeard will get hold of the Road Poneglyphs, and he will likely extract more information from Shanks regarding Laugh Tale and the One Piece. There is also a possibility that the Red Hair Pirates and the Blackbeard Pirates may not fight each other at all, and they could actually clash with other crews. At the moment, it's merely speculation, but things will become clear in the coming arcs.
