Observation Haki is one of the two main Haki types that anyone can learn and use, alongside Armament Haki. In short, one could describe Observation Haki as a sixth sense. The power in its most basic forms can allow one to sense dangers, find enemies or allies, as well as sense the intent of others, among other things.

Observation Haki is definitely a must when fighting stronger enemies, as it allows one to dodge and land attacks.

When speaking of more advanced Observation Haki, that’s when this power gets overpowered. Fans of One Piece have seen Observation Haki users sense things across massive distances, such as whole islands. Oda has also shown advanced Observation Haki users that can peek into the future, and how much they can look depends on the level of their Observation Haki.

Gaban has shown some insane feats when it comes to Observation Haki. It was revealed in the latest One Piece chapter that Gaban can make use of Future Sight, which only a handful of the very strongest can. Gaban’s range with his Observation Haki is also quite impressive, being possibly able to cover the entirety of Elbaf. On top of that, Gaban can even sense those who can suppress their Haki, making his Haki extra strong.

He is definitely one of the top users of Observation Haki, if not the most powerful. After all, Gaban and Sanji are supposed to mirror each other, and fans know that Sanji’s specialty is Observation Haki, so Gaban might show some even better feats in the rest of Elbaf.

Is Gaban’s Observation Haki Better Than Shanks?

They Might Be On The Same Level

Gaban has amazing Observation Haki, but realistically, he has one major challenger in One Piece - Red Hair Shanks. Shanks is the only Yonko with no Devil Fruit powers, which in itself is a testament to his Haki. Shanks is purely reliant on his Haki and has shown some of the craziest feats in the series when it comes to Observation Haki. Shanks can look over 10 seconds into the future, and sense Greenbull in Wano from miles away. Fans don’t know how much Gaban can look into the future, but it could be said that Gaban and Shanks should at least be close when it comes to Observation Haki. At the moment, however, Gaban being able to sense those who suppress their presence gives him the edge.
