In Chapter 1161, Oda revealed that it was Rayleigh who saved Shakky from the clutches of the Holy Knights and the World Government. Shakky had been captured for the sole purpose of turning her into the prize of the Celestial Dragons' Hunting Competition. When the news began to spread, pirates from around the world started showing up to God Valley in hopes of rescuing Shakky.

Roger had always been mesmerized by Shakky's beauty, so he also traveled to God Valley with his crew. Since the competition was fierce, Roger was unable to reach Shakky's location, but Rayleigh was able to breach the guard. He used a potent attack to subdue Shepherd Sommers and rescue Shakky. Fans knew that Shakky only had eyes for Rayleigh, so she was overjoyed seeing him.

While Oda did not reveal the full strength of prime Rayleigh, he did give the audience a glimpse. The pirate was able to overwhelm Sommers with a single hit, which is an excellent feat. One Piece fans are already aware of Sommers' insane powers. He was able to dominate the Straw Hat Pirates and would have killed them as well if Gaban hadn't intervened. By beating Sommers so easily, Rayleigh accentuated his status as a legendary fighter.

While Rayleigh saved Shakky, the chaos on God Valley isn't stopping anytime soon. There is still a lot that's happening on the island, and not everything has been covered. The most important incident that fans want to see is the fight between Gol D. Roger, Monkey D. Garp, and Davy D. Xebec.

The latter is unanimously believed to be the strongest fighter of the era, so it's understandable why Roger and Garp had to team up.

What's not clear is why Roger decided to fight Xebec on God Valley. Both of them were pirates, but they sought different things. Xebec only went to save his wife and son, while Roger wanted to rescue Shakky and treasures. So, it didn't make sense for either of them to fight each other. Also, it would be remiss not to mention that Garp only went to God Valley because he wanted to fight Roger.

Aside from the clash between the two sides, the God Valley Incident served as a crucial place of growth for many characters. For Kuma, Ivankov, and Ginny, it was a second shot at life. They had been enslaved for a large portion of their lives, but the God Valley Incident provided them with a ray of hope.

For Blackbeard, Shanks, and Shamrock, it was the beginning of a brand-new life. Shanks and Shamrock were separated and went down extremely different paths. Blackbeard was scarred by the mistreatment by the Celestial Dragons, which is why he stayed away from trouble.

The God Valley Incident also had a significant impact on the life of Monkey D. Dragon, who was just a regular Marine soldier at the time. After seeing the atrocities committed by the World Government, Dragon was so moved that he decided to change things. First, he founded the Freedom Fighters, and later, he formed the Revolutionary Army.

As the flashback continues, there is no doubt that fans will learn more about these characters and their past. For now, they have to be patient and let Oda release new chapters at his own pace.
